Same here. Even has the sacreligious aluminum frame....

My kimber (custom stainless) fails to lock back on empty mags and stovepipes frequently. I've tried many expensive mags--wilsons and mccormicks--and many brands of ammo, cheap and expensive.

Easy and quick fix, buy a Wilson "bulletproof" extractor and slide stop. Problems solved.

Holy crap the much lauded Kimber 1911 requires you buy parts from a third party to make it worth a damn? Aren't Kimbers more or less top of the line? I must say I haven't had to buy any after-market parts to make my glocks or sigs actually work. Seriously though, thanks for the advice. I've been scratching my head trying to get this $650 POS to work right. Will the Wilson parts drop right in, or will they require fitting?
