From a purely mechanical perspective, I don't think you could have vaginal intercourse with a woman with a potato in her vagina.

It sounds like a new version of an old snopes story - Potato Pessary

The only difference is that the girl in the old story thought her uterus was falling out (I suspect it was just menstruation) and used the potato to hold it up. Same end result anyway - vines growing out etc.
