That was my first CD (when CDs still

regret that purchase.

Metallica sucks.

First LP I bought on my own?  Either Motley Crue - Shout at the Devil or Van Halen 1984.  I still have both of them, though I no longer own a turntable.

My first one would have been in the mid sixties, so I don't remember what it was.  Back then I got mostly 45's, but I know I had Three Dog Night, because they were the first band I saw in concert, and I had their album.

The first album I remember buying was through Columbia House. It was a new band, and the cover had a cool picture on it. It also had two words; Black Sabbath.

Am I the only person who can't remember this?  I have no idea.  I'm not even sure if I remember which CD I bought first and it wasn't that long ago

Nope.

Disclaimer:  I was 9 Years Old, OK?

Captain&Tennille-Love Will Keep Us Together.

Lame defense, it did win a grammy as album of the year.

Aw' crap, just shoot me now.

Don't remember the first CD.

I think the first 8-track I owned was a Richard Pryor comedy concert.  My father was a minister.  On his way to some church conference event, with a car load of the finest of the flock, he finds it under the front seat.  Hmm, what's this?

DOH!!
I heard he littered the highway with it.

Beatles-"Beatles for Sale" and "Abbey Road" vinyl, on the same day. Still got em both, great shape too. Then immediately after puberty it was The Jimi Hendrix Expierience,"Axis:Bold As Love"  Nowadays I like bluegrass mostly.

Edited to add: DISCO IS DEAD, It got Blowed Up at Comiskey Park in Chicago.
Blowed up real good. Yessir,  Blowed up nice. Would not have happened if them two college proffessors hadn't discovered that prolonged exposure to disco music causes homosexuality in labratory rats.

My mother bought me Queen-The Game, my first two purchases were:
Def Leppard-Pyromania and Quiet Riot-Metal Health.
I still had them about five years ago, probably still do, somewhere in my boxes of shit.
