Seeing as I was an 0331, a M60 GPMG on a tripod.

I'll give you covering fire from the trench.  Good luck!

If you mean an empty weapon and you only have the pigsticker.

Krag is longer than the springfield but has a weak ass stock so that's out.
M1 has a pistol grip so that's a touch awkward
M1903 with a 16" would be good but the M1917 would be heavier and make a better club.
I'd take the M1917 over the No1 Mk III just because of the 2 piece stock on the British version.

or you could go with a Brown bess and a 3 bladed bayonet and have a 7' pike.

1903 w/16"' bayonet.  Weight, balance, and stand-off distance!.  Now, if you have placed the M-1 on your list with a 16" bayonet, different story.

Which rifle/bayonet combo? List your alternates if I didn't list them. I was just cleaning a No.4 MK.1 and thought about the heft and balance of the rifle and the teeny little spike bayonet. I think I shouldn't have sold the No. 1 MK. 3 with the long bayonet. I think I'll get another.

ETA: Sorry for no Mosin or P14/M1917 option. There are lots of contenders, the listed ones are just my favorites.

I'm voting M-14 on this one.  You didn't say we couldn't have the rifle loaded and firing during the charge...So yhea...
If you gave the option for an M-16 with an M7 bayonet, I might change my mind, but since I hear the M9 breaks...
