450R might not be the fastest or prettiest but it's sweet around the corners and reliable.

Just like your mom.

Those were my votes.

Didn't have time to explain my previous answer but the question was which is the most fun. Hands down the banshee, mine is lightly modded with an Eric Gorr woods port, single carb, shortened swinger a-arm frame/arms (mines an 87), Elkas, lightened flywheel, Noss head w/domes, wider axle, a couple different exhausts...

Way more fun than my 700R but not necessarily a better quad.

A what?

I have four Z400s. While it is viewed as a slow or mild quad now, it is still a great quad. Ten years ago it was a hot bike. With a pipe, filter, and jet kit, it will make 34 hp dyno'd at the wheels (Come at me with published crank rated HP, and I'll tell you to fuck off. Hmkay? ). Add a 440 kit and it will do quite a bit better. Best mod is a $25 13 tooth front sprocket. Quad will do 70 mph and no one needs that on a trail of in sand. Drop a front tooth, and the powerband is everywhere. Makes it much nicer to ride. Trails I'll go to a 13/42 front/ rear (stock is 14/40).

I bought a 2006 Z400 that had never been rolled or wrecked with low ride time for $1,500. It's practically brand new and still on new stock tires. Craigslist has some great deals.

I've ridden a z400

They are decent and fun but not scary fun

I prefer something a little more powerful

For instance,  my TTR 225 piped and jetted bike could keep up with my buddies z400

That's just not acceptable IMO

You made an unwise choice.  Buying a used sport quad is iffy at best.  Buying a used, modified sport quad is not very smart.  Buying a used, modified, Polaris sport quad is downright stupid.  Shoulda got a 450R.

2 strokes are a pain in the ass in the woods. I also hate having to rebuild them often.

4 stroke Honda 400ex or 450 is the way to go. The 700's a more fun but can be too big and heavy at times.

Agree.
But a built banshee with flat slides and pipes is something everyone should ride at least once. Everything else seems like a minivan in a straight line.

It's a fresh engine done by a reputable shop with receipts

It also has reverse and came with a title

Again it's got a KTM engine

Solid rear axles suck for trail riding, because they hang up all the time. The IRS Outlaw 525 has much better ground clearance, and has a beast of an engine. Most underrated sport quad, ever. As fast as the old quadzilla, but a much better ATV, overall.

Edit: just to clarify, I'm only talking about the 525 version, not the 500 Polaris, which is slow, heavy, and has a crude gearbox.

I can ride a dirt bike very well. But to me, a sport quad is more fun on mud and ice. A studded sport quad on a river is one of the most fun things in all of motorsports.

Correct answer is "get both".

Don't get a 2-stroke either. 2 strokes are for men who don't wear skinny jeans

That's like saying you bought a Dodge for the Cummins....but it still has a Dodge wrapped around it.

I hope you like it!  Don't shoot your eye out....or break a leg....or whatever you do on those things!

Oh, BTW, a Raptor with an air filter, exhaust, and a power commander put's out around 52HP at the wheels
