I thought this was established.

Facing hypothetical down-range target. Left hand as if on vertical fore grip or rail. Right hand palm down, index and ring fingers hooked as if over charging handle. Pull right hand back and straighten fingers. Adjust angle of arms to suit the situation. (Low ready or at shoulder.)

I'm probably putting my membership at risk by showing this to you guys, but fuck it. These are unusual times, and we need a way to know our own.

Gentlemen, this is how the Lifers recognize:

First, make the basic shape:

Now, using the other hand, make the first lug. There are several of these, and they get easier with practice, but the first one is the hardest:

Now, learn the rest of the positions. This one kicked my ass for awhile:

Now--and this can be tricky: Quickly combine your left and right hands in front of you, and lock eyes with your fellow ARFcommer (you'll recognize him by his wolf stare).
The hand movements are difficult at first, but become easier with practice.

I hope you appreciate the sacrifice I just made.
