It proved that there is no justice against some and final judgement against others, all at the hands of your government. What you do about it is your own decision, but don't think we are all crazies in the end.
Lon Haruchi is still a free man...that should piss you off. |

Same here, although it was not until I saw "Waco: Rules of Engagement" and read "Every Knee Shall Bow" (RR book) that I came around. Prior to that, I bought the .gov line. Koresh was a child molesting, drug dealing looney who thought he was Christ. Weaver was a black hating, drug dealing looney who was breaking laws left and right. *sigh* too bad some people still believe that the Davidians killed themselves. Oh yea, and one name "Lon Horiuchi" |

ducks on the pond or water beneath the bridge?
I learned the same thing, don't do anything warranting the attention of the federal government and you won't have to worry about the government kicking down your door. If they do, and you know you're innocent then don't shoot it out with them like Baby Face Nelson, plain and simple. |
|
Wonder how many gangbangers are reading this thread right now and going out and buying black outfits with POLICE printed on them?

Not the smartest response amongst a few ignorant responses. It's Old North Bridge in Concord, MA, a place where your liberty was born. Several other members will also be able to highlight that for you, as they have in this thread. Make sure, little lamb, that you don't disturb the Bo0berment too seriously by using your freedom of speech or religion or anything; you don't want Johnny Law to come smashing your door down with tanks and burning up your relatives. This IS a gun forum, right? Many of you guys don't see the relevance; I am sure that when Shrillary gets elected and your friend Chuckles the Clown Schumer is Attorney General, you will dutifully line up and turn in your eeEEVIL Black Rifles upon command. I may turn in my least useful one, just for show. See what a Good Sheeple I am? |

Showed me the extent the government will go to if I keep making jokes about sex with Hillary and Chelsey.

Bow down to the one you serve, peasant. The King's men are coming. |
|

OH my friend, if that thought even crossed your mind you need professional help and not from the FBI. I know an excellent optomotrist! |

Oh yea, that man was cats meow. He was without a doubt the most powerful man in the world with files on everyone in the name of the Cold War. He had everybody in his back pocket and was not afraid to use it. Like I said, in his day, you wouldn't even have heard of Waco or Ruby Ridge. It would have just happened. Tj |
||

You want proof that Waco was a cluster f--- and not "Koresh ambushed us"?
The ATF was seen coming. They knew a phone call had been made blowing what little secrecy they had. The ATF attacked in broad daylight, uphill, with no cover. That is, unless you want to call fiberglass horse trailers 'cover'. Only four ATF agents were killed (and not necessarily by the Branch Davidians). Under those circumstances a 10 yr old with a .22 could have gotten a lot more than four without trying hard. ATF was damned lucky they didn't take a lot more casualties. The Branch Davidians had to be trying very hard not to shoot back and kill their attackers. The planner of that raid should have gone to jail for gross stupidity. He is lucky his own men didn't frag him for leading them into that fiasco. Then the FBI came in and covered up for them. I was really dismayed... I thought for sure the Texas Rangers would have gotten to the bottom of it in their investigation, but it looks like they dropped the ball, too. I really thought they would be the only honest and reliable LEO outfit out of the whole bunch. So much for any respect I ever had for the Texas Rangers. Then to top it off, other agencies would make excuses for the whole fiasco. The blue wall was yanked up. Between that and Ruby Ridge, and more recently the door to door gun siezures in New Orleans, well, it is really hard for me to respect LEO's. I used to, I really did. But it has steadily become more difficult. |

shit would really have to hit the fan for me to even think about using my weapons againts US law enforcement or Goverment. Nobody is making me live here if theres something sooo wrong with the USA that i have to take up a weapon againts my own country im getting the fuck out of dodge. I really dont wanna have a firefight in my house with my family.hinking.gif

I get it....I live not far from it. Both of those incidents proved beyond any doubt that government is NOT my friend. |
||
|
Ruby Ridge disturbed me.
Waco, the Klintons and Reno made me truly realize that the gov't was declaring war on freedom and the People and weren't going to stop. Almost my entire collection was assembled after Waco though I got my first AR during the LA riots. Enough of that shit I figured. I doubt whether the resulting verdict would have been the same if Weaver had surrendered right away. I think he'd still be sitting in Club Fed. The gov't had no intention of letting the Branch Davidians surrender peacefully. They wanted blood and did everything to get some. Yeah, they were a bunch of fruit loops, no doubt, but I doubt I would have surrendered after the initial bungled assault by the ATF either. I mean BATFELMNOP. Bunch of fucktards. Seriously. What kind of asshole even joins a law enforcement organization like that? In any event the gov't declared their true intentions with these raids and it became obvious to me that full scale conflict with the gov't was just about inevitable. People say the gov't will erode our rights incrementally and I tell them the next time the socialists come to power I don't see them waiting. I think they will do as much damage as they can in as short a time as they can. One only has to look at the frist 2 years of the Klinton Adminsitration to see that. Further, they are almost foaming at the mouth now over the Bush Administration, even given that he has pushed more socialsit BS than they could have ever gotten through. What does that tell you? |
|
Besides the ones that are issued them you mean?
+1 At one time I was generally a LEO supporter. Defended the LAPD in discussions re the Rodney King incident, etc. Now? Not so much <understatement>. |

For those who would leave the country, where would you go?
I have decided there is no where else worth moving to since I can't take my guns there and live there as a citizen with freedoms. I was still believing my public school education was decent when these events happened. I learned more about the events when the trials and books started coming out. My biggest turning point was the assault weapons ban because I was not into guns when it was put into effect. I got into guns and started learning about the ban and learning more about waco and ruby ridge and learning about these things at the same time makes someone wonder why the government feels a need to limit what citizens can own. As far as burying guns, I only consider it a big deal if someone buries their whole collection. Storing some of your stuff in the ground protects it from floods and fire and theft and makes extra room in your safe for stuff you plan to actually use. Overall, it taught me that the government and all the little groups that make it up can do incredably stupid things in the interest of getting a bigger budget. I really came to understand the quote that compares government to fire. |
|
How much leverage did those two events give the anti-gun liberal law makers and how far did it set us guwn owners back in the fight against suppression of the 2nd Amendment? You're answer is my answer..
|
|
Those 2 events, various "no knocks" gone bad, then the blue wall springing up from time to time - attempting to justify OBVIOUS clusterF's - have really changed my outlook on things...

Actually, it helped us in that regard. More people bought guns, it activated a surge of voters in '94 that essentially put an end to the entire Clinton game plan. He did the same shit in AR BTW. He was trounced after his first term for his socialist activist crap and then begged and apologized to the voters in order to be elected again in the following term. He had to in order to use the governorship as a springboard to the Presidency. He was very moderate in his second term and then once in the Oval Office tried pulling the same shit. He got it shoved up his ass with a candle on it. Unfortuantely, so did the Branch Davidians. What a bunch of morons, BTW, but they deserved better than what they got. For sure the kids did. The surge in conservative voting in '94 and the moves against the Socialists came to a screaching halt with the bombing in Oklahoma City. |

After Ruby and Waco, I joined a militia and we sat around eating patato chips and drinking guinness while planning complex missions against random FBI field offices.

ooooh, Not a good post! |

zero effect. Just another case of an incident being blown out of proportion on the internet.

Confirmed Gen. Pattons' point that-
“Fixed fortifications are monuments to man's stupidity.” And eliminated "Lon" as a possible name for my children. |

Just wanted note that was 1990 bud. Not much browsing with our high powered 286s back then. Tj |

Beat to death since then, though. |

We know, or at least hope your joking. There are many who read posts such as yours that have no sence of humor and many of these humorless bastards have badges. |

I was 13 or 14 at the time. I dont remember much about it- I was busy rifling thru my Dad's "EasyRider" mags at the time. I should have been paying attention, but I wasnt. I can honeslty say that not a word was said about either incident in my High School.
Now, looking back, it should serve as a wake-up call for a government going badly out of control. |
|
Absolutly! Its...shocking to see so many so obliviouse |
|
|
But didn't it also give the libs all kinds of firepower under the guise that all people that own or want to own guns are potential militant "whackos"... Oh wait... they're still running with that flag today, how many years later. |
||
|
They've been running that flag for decades. Really since the 30's when the socialists really gained a foothold in this country. Then it really took off again in the 60's and then again in the 90's. No coincidence that the most draconian gun laws came about when they were in power, 34NFA, '68 GCA, '94 AWBAN, and only one has been rolled back. In the 30's and 60's the men in this country just rolled over. Pathetic. Gutless wonders. I think when people saw it starting in the 90's many said enough. Fortunately the internet gave us a voice and a way to communicate or we'd have had even more shoved down our throats. The Klinton socialists, Ruby Ridge, Waco, LA riots, AWBan all mobilized us and got us off our ass. To buy guns, to speak out, to vote, even to prepare. drj |

Right, on, Doc! I noticed in my other post about Waco that a few people were stating that since they weren't "doing anything illegal, then they had nothing to worry about." Now, ain't that EXACTLY the bullshit reasoning that a copper gives you when he tells you he wants to search your car? I didn't buy guns with the idea that I'd be some fifth-columnist and launch some successful revolt or anything, or that I'd fight off the 3rd Armored Division with my M1 Garand. That would be delusions of grandeur at best and criminal stupidity at worst. I bought them because I always liked to target shoot and to plink. Later on, when I saw the government (run by Klintax) constantly assaulting American traditions and individual liberties, I felt compelled to be armed with the idea that a general decline in order resulting from broadscale Socialist incompetence (a la France one month ago) would require a man to take care of himself and his own interests, possibly requiring arms to avoid the tragedy of lawlessness. Seeing how New Orleans worked out for its residents, I'm glad I've gone down the path I have chosen. |

Yeah, but we're not. Not even united here. And that's okay for now but when TSHTF we really need to pull together. |
