Besides being a Blue state, Michigan is one of the MOST pro gun states in the Union. If we can keep the idiots in Washington from voting for an AWB, I think it is pretty safe to say they won't be banned here. The only thing I don't like is the Winter and the fact that Detroit with all their union pals always decide where the State is going to go as far as picking a Governor or a President.

You Southerners have got us beat on that one. Savage, I admire you for your honesty, I hunted in Maine 7 years ago, I only saw one hottie in the town of Presque Isle. Pros -Good hunting and fishing -CCW Cons -Hiking trails suck -Flat as a board so you have to drive hours to go climbing -Broke as a motherfucker |
|
Colorado:
Pros: Beautiful scenery, great climate, great gun laws. Cons: Filling up with pesky Californicators and Easterners, who voted in Dems to take over Congress and the governor's office. Not enough water. Air pollution is getting just like California, too. Colorado was a much better place 30 years ago. |

Too hot.
No open carry. Three day wait for handguns unless you have a CCW. |

Cons: No hills in immediate area, no public land to wander in.

|
Pros:
I find my states history very interesting. Missouri is still one of the most anti-big government states in the Union. Fairly lax gun laws. Enough for my liking More caves than anywhere in the country, for when SHTF. Cons: St.Louis and Kansas City. Being next to IL. Seriously, their gun control laws are contagious Being next to Kansas. Seriously, their retardation is contagious. |

West Virginia
The bad: -Very poor state yet we get taxed bad. -One of the most obese states -I live next to the most unhealthy obese town in the US which has now been over taken with Detroit drug dealers. -no good jobs -the weather sucks. If you don't like the weather just wait a few days it will change -we have been ruled by Dems for 70 years..... -white tail deer are everywhere The good: -Pro-gun state, we can have pretty much anything -cost of living is cheap... -lots of outdoor stuff (rafting, rock climbing ect ect). That is all I have right now. I am in Barboursville which is a pretty nice area. One of the nicest areas in WV I have seen. Some of WV is pretty shitty tho. But all states have that. |
|
Michigan:
Pros - Great weather 3 out of 4 seasons. Spring is great (most years), summer is awesome, fall is my favorite season here. Winter...well, winter is the price we pay for the other 3 seasons. If I could, I would have a winter home in coastal southern California and live there from just after Christmas until Memorial Day. Great state to camp, fish, hunt, dirt bike, snowmobile etc., pretty much any outdoor sport. Shall-issue CCW starting in 2001 (got mine in 2004 which reminds me I have to renew it March 2009). Cons - The economy is in the toilet due to the automotive industry being down and manufacturing jobs disappearing since roughly 2001. This state used to be a good state to make a living and was good to me my entire career but now things have been on a downward slide. Detroit Our incompetent governor |

I keep hearing people wanting to move from their current state. Can we get a running list of what's good and bad about each particular state from residents of said state. I'll start for Michigan. Good: -Pro-gun attorney general in Mike Cox -Gun laws are pretty good (hi-caps allowed, CCW allowed) -Great hunting and fishing -Detroit Redwings -Plenty of outdoor recreation during all seasons -Casinos -Great Lakes and the Mackinac Bridge -70 mph speed limit on interstates Bad: -Liberal Governor that panders to Unions and welfare recipients -Reliance upon blue collar industries that are quickly disappearing -Horrible job market/economy -Bitter cold at times in winter -Fireworks...all the good ones are illegal -No death penalty -Detroit Lions -US Senator Carl Levin (democrat) is from this state I'm hip to most of those. Biggest up for me: beautiful state. Four real seasons. Love all the fresh water. Downs: This is most decidely a BLUE STATE. With all the negatives that go with it. |
