Jean Bugatti was just 30 when he died in a freak auto accident in 1939; he veered into a tree to avoid a drunken bicyclist who had sneaked onto a road where he was testing one of this company’s race cars – the Type 57 C that had just won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The auto company, and his father, company founder Ettore Bugatti, never recovered from the loss.

Damn.

I wonder how bad the actual crash was that killed him? I wonder if he was in say, a modern Honda Accord if he would've been able to survive the crash

If he was driving an Accord (or similar econobox), it wouldn't have made any difference - He would have died of boredom anyway.

The crash probably would have never happened.  Can you imagine the difference in braking and handling performance between that Bugatti and ANY modern car?  And if the crash did happen, it would have to be because the Accord was traveling at a much higher speed than the Bugatti would have been, so is quite possible that the outcome would have been the same.

Well, maybe if that goddamned bicyclist would have stayed in the goddamned bicycle lane instead of the ro- oh, wait...

I love old Bugatti designs. My favorite is the Type 57 SC Atlantic. It looks like a tarantula creeping down the road when it's just cruising.

I can't recall if Bugatti did the coachwork on their cars or subbed it out like Duesenberg did.

Well to be fair a modern Honda Accord v6 is putting down almost 300 hp and probably weighs a lot less and has much better handling characteristics then his  Bugatti. The guy would probably think he was in and advanced alien car or something! So I doubt he would die of boredom because the accord would be blowing his mind!  Now for you and I it would be the exact opposite Ha ha!

That's puuuurty.  For those of you that have not driven a truly OLD car, you are missing out. It's a whole other experience than cars from the 60's and up.
You have to talk to them and shit to get them on your side so they don't try and kill you.

Yeah, on the sticker for the 2500's, they show N/A as the estimated MPG.

Thinking about getting a Power Wagon. I'm budgeting for 10 MPG (3-5 off-road) @ $5.00/gallon.

Fully loaded 4.5 tons. 10,000 lbs towing capacity

6.4 liter Hemi; 410 hp; 429 ft-lbs. torque

Comfortable as hell.
