I miss home Big +1 I lived right on Puget sound up until five years ago. SC aint bad, and having sunshine in the winter is nice, but the Olympic peninsula in the summertime... I will say, WA was a completely different place 30-40 years ago than it is now, probably more so than anyplace else in the country. Too much population growth coming from all the wrong places, the culture is completely changed. I spent 4 days in Seattle in January this year. That place has gone off the deep end. It's an isolated incident, the rest of the country is fine. |

If I don't know you're from California within five minutes of meeting you, you're good to go. You can spot the yuppie imports because every other sentence out of their mouth includes some variation of "in California we have XYZ" or "that's not how we do it in California" or "why don't you have store/service/product/legislation XYZ, we had that in California." You would think they were all forced to leave against their will. In many ways, native Oregonians and Washingtonians have perfected the art of hating California. If it didn't rain 6/7 days a week, and the california yuppies didn't make everything so damn expensive, it would be a great place to live. I liked Ferndale while we were out there. The PWN really sucks. I wish I had moved to SoCal.
The South also really sucked too. I suggest NoVa or the Midwest. |

It's pretty funny how people act though. About 4 years ago, Seattle went 92 days straight without rain during the summer time. The day it rained, everybody was complaining about how all it does is rain! And of course, every movie that is set in Seattle has rain in every outdoor scene. I grew up west of the mountains, but now live east of the mountains. I prefer it out here much better. More to get away from the people than the weather. I quite enjoy the mild weather of western washington. |

it rains a fuckload in washington..... they have moss growing on their roofs.
but i love that state, and if i had a choice of states to live in.. id pick that one. ( choice as in growing up there, and family being there) |

I've lived in WA for over 35 years and I am very ready to leave. Better weather can't save it. The land is fantastic, the liberals on the other hand, ****ing suck. I've had it with the clowns in Seattle. If that city fell in the ocean it'd be a pretty sweet state. Since that'll never happen, it's best to just leave.
As far as the "look how nice the weather is!" stuff, it's an isolated incident. It is exceptionally common on the wet half of the state for the weather to pretty much suck from late Sep all the way until July 5th. No idea why it ****ing rains so much on July 4th, but it's maddening as hell. So if you're from somewhere else, don't be suckered into moving here based a few 'nice day pics' posted online. What you're not seeing a day after day, week after week, and month after month of gray/dreary/drizzly/seasonal-depression causing crap. |

Not the same Washington you probably left. When did you leave? Seattle is turning socialist, and what Seattle/King County does, so does everyone else sooner or later. Quoted:

Meh, pretty state, loved it there, Seattle was neat, and the North Cascades were amazing as was the Olympic Peninsula.... But no MG parts....thanks libtards...don't get me wrong, my state is worse, but Washington is pretty retarded too... Wa state is nowhere as retarded as NY as far as firearms.....and politicians go. Didn't your state pass a law basically stating that it was illegal to hand a gun over to a buddy without a background check? Didn't I read about a mass protest that was going to take place where they were going to try to get all gun owners to come outside and swap guns and let the state basically have to arrest everybody or admit it was a bogus law? Sorry I don't know the outcome, as we have enough problems to deal with here, I didn't follow the story... And I said in no uncertain terms that NY is worse than WA, but WA is still pretty fucked up. We can still buy MG parts here.... SBRs, suppressors and no magazine capacity limits apparently is fucked up to a New Yorker.. Btw...notice anything in the news about 594 being enforced? Because I haven't. Eta: a word Don't care, you passed the law....enforced or not your fucked up politicians got it passed. Enjoy your SBR's and cans while you can, the libs are taking over, and you are doomed too.... The voters passed it. It was put on the ballot as an, "initiative." Funded in a large part by Bloomberg. Wow big money and politics......where did we hear about that before? Anyway, most voters don't know cr@* about real gun laws. I'd suspect that the voters also probably voted on emotion. Hell, most of the general public can't even define a "semi-automatic firearm" correctly. And they think that guns can be purchased and delivered directly to your door from an internet store. Think about it???? How else would OBAMA get elected? Promise them _________ and deliver S@^&. There are alot of stupid people are out there. BTW........even my local gun shop was for it. Greedy a$$#@* figured that doing background checks on ALL transfers (even when both parties had a CCW) would add to their bottom line. Aloha, Mark |

Aloha, Mark View Quote Go to gunbroker and look at the list of local FFL's, most are now charging $50 for transfers. I'd imagine they're making more on transfers than they are selling guns, whole lot less overhead too. This winter has been unusally mild and nice. Don't let all the sunny pictures fool you. Mid-Sept to 4th of July is normally gray and drizzly. Might get a total of 2 week in those 9 months of nice weather. There's a reason everything is green around here 4th of July is a gamble. Half the time it just dumps buckets of water and the other half it's some of the best weather you can ask for. |

Seattle averages 226 days of cloud cover per year. With 140 days of measurable precipitation. I'm guessing they can't account for all the days when the air is just WET, yet actual precipitation doesn't add up to much. What a sun drenched paradise.
I miss it like a toothache. |

There's a reason why Starbuck's and Tilley's started in Seattle. Where else in the country are there more coffee stands than gas stations? Because the fall thru the spring sucks unless you like gray skies and 35 degrees and a drizzling rain that's more of a heavy mist. If you get depressed easily, don't come here in the winter. Do we have nice days? You bet, and we have great scenery as well. You can pretty much do everything here from mountain climbing to scuba diving. But don't forget your rain gear. If you don't like, or at least tolerate getting wet you won't have much fun here. The state clothing is Goretex and fleece. Oh, and what people are saying about it raining on July 4? It's true. It completely sucks but about 4 out of every 5 years it rains on the 4th.
