That's funny, mine isn't there but I have mine framed at my desk.

Longggg time ago. Wish I stayed in, I'd be retiring in 4 years instead of sitting in this cubicle

. Silver lining is if I stayed in, I wouldn't have the wife and son I do since they were from my hometown and we didn't meet until I came back.

TI's were TSgt Pfingston and SSgt Escobar.

TSgt Pfingston went on to become the 10th Chief Master Seargent of the USAF

Thanks for the link warpusher!

I never got a book, since I was on my way to the Security Police Academy before the picture was taken. Some of the faces I easily recognize, and others, I'm like "We were in the same Flight?". Definitely a right click and save as. Somewhere in this mess I call a home, I think I still have my orders to Basic Training. I might have to see if I can find it, and track a few people down.

They don't have mine.

Amazing how large some of the flights were, my FLT only had 36 guys in the end. I was the only AC maintenance guy. Ran into two guys from my flight during my career, one was a Dog Handler and the other guy got recycled than washed from EOD and he was a unhappy 702 the next time I saw him.

Ha ha, I realized last night I can't remember my squadron from BMT let alone my flight. There are only two pictures from August '98 and they weren't mine so I guess I'll just check occasionally for updates.

Here is mine, 33 years ago this month. Man I feel old. Chances are, every one of these guys that made it a career are long retired.

All you youngsters with your BDU's, these were the real Air Force, blue and white name tapes and all!

We were the honor flight for our cycle, out of four flights. SSgt Pascuzzi was our TI, he was not in the photo, that is Sgt Martinez, our asst. TI. At 19, I was the second oldest guy in the flight. Oldest was 20. Most were 17 or 18. SSgt Pascuzzi was a red headed Italian, and looked like a bulldog. He had a red head temper to match.

Lol. My ugly mug is in a lot of those pics. I went thru basic 25 times. A little less than half are on that site. I knew a lot of your instructors.

Hey Beamey. Say hello to Sterling for me. I knew him as a rookie stud and FTX instructor. He was a great guy. Very intense.

If you have a photo that isn't in the archive, send in a copy. They'll want it.

If my flight photo is there (it's not, not yet) I still won't be in that picture as I was in the "Proficiency Advanced" program that they had in

place in the late 80s. Due to having taken four years of ROTC in jr. and high school, I had the chance of speeding through basic in

just 12 training days. (Plus the weekends in between.) I made it, but literally after the fifth day in training, my schedule and activities

were separate from the rest of my flight. On some days, I MIGHT get a meal with my flight. Other times, I'd get meals with other flights

instead due to time and location constraints.

So that photo, when it's up, will be bittersweet as I won't be in it.

Those photos are also screwing with my fragile little mind as I was SURE that I was in '87 and I know that my flight was apparently the

first one in the AF to get issued all BDUs. I saw the last pickle greens get handed out to the flight immediately in front of mine on uniform

issue day. But the records show that as happening at the end of 1988.

It should be 3711, flight 102, 1988. (Or 103, I'd have to check my records.) I don't remember the exact date but it should be easy to figure out

as I was there over Thanksgiving and I was only there for three weeks tops.

Frankly I'm not sure if there IS an official USAF photo of me. Not one I can recall.

Neat pic. I was one month old when it was taken.

I've always admired you guys who volunteered in the late 1970s, post-Vietnam when military morale was at its lowest, before Reagan and "Top Gun" made the military cool again in the public's eye.

About a quarter of my Flight got issued OD Field Jackets, this was late '91.
That and my duffel bag are the last pieces of my original issue that I still have.
Damn jacket shrank over the years...

(my Mom has a set of my Dress Blues stored alongside my Dad's and my Brother's Navy Uniforms)

Thats pretty cool.

I could not find my flight from late 1996. And I cannot remember my squardron/flight. I did have a female TI that looked a bit rough at first, but turned into Demi Moore by the end of basic. She was married to a big black guy who was also a TI.

I wish I would have stayed in as well. I would have retired 5 years ago, I did 10 but decided I wanted to start a family and make more money. Looking back I could have retired at 38 and started the career I have now without issues. I chaulk it up to being young and making yet another bad decision.

ETA: My Flight pic isn't on the list either, luckly I framed and kept both of them. I guess I'll do a high resolution scan and send it in. 3702 - Second to None!!! Graduated in 1987, seems like forever ago.

ETA: Information was 3702 BMTS, Flight 752, graduation 27AUG87. TI's are SSgt Serrato (dirty low down SOB) and Sgt. Wiggins.

It would be interesting if one or more ARF members had actually been in another ARF members BMTS.

It must have all been a dream. I cant find mine. I also cant remember what flight it was. WTF. My memory is bad. Atleast I remember it was Mar 95 - Aprl 95 and Alcatraz. I can even point to the buildings ( we moved buildings during redline week) when I am there. Everything else is a fog.

I found mine. I remembered my squadron number but forgot my flight number. If I had stayed in I'd have crossed over 24 years now. I didn't though so...

I had a difficult time finding me in my photo... the one I've got is in a box in my garage. It used to be on my "I love me" wall but... several moves later, I saw no point in putting it up again.

Does anyone know when during basic the photos were taken? Like were they taken some time before graduation or during graduation, etc? I had a siezure while doing PT one morning in the 5th week of basic so my USAF enlistment was cut short

and I don't remember doing a group photo prior to the incident but maybe we did. This was in April '90 (3711 flt 326). Hopefully someone will eventually submit a photo.

I think you are right, but I don't remember either. It was all one big blur to me. I can remember some specific events and time frames, but I really can't break much else down by weeks.

30+ years ago, they made the group picture around the 4th or 5th week. There are a couple of guys in my flight picture that did not graduate with my flight, they were busted back to the 1st week with a new flight for various screwups. One made it to graduation week, and then went all the way back to week one to do it all over.

323 BMTS flt 273 may 93.

if you got your picture, and they dont, then email them a pic. the instructions says 2 meg limit, so i sent her a 5 meg photo. so i guess the size limit is not a big deal. I think the lady is happy to just get a pic to add.

Even if they have my flight photo, I'm not in it. I was dorm guard, TI didn't bother to tell me to lock up the dorm and fall in, so I got about an hour to myself.

ETA: 323 TRS, Flight 041, graduated December 3rd 1999.

ETA2: They don't have it, they've got both band flights that went through at the same time, but not my flight.

Since I didn't actually get to do the flight photo, being off in Keesler a couple of blocks into my electronics course at the time that the rest of my BMTS flight

was getting their picture taken, can someone clue me in on the story behind the various slogans on the board shown in the pictures?

Some are more, some are less military in nature. How is the slogan chosen?

Don't know when the slogans started - we didn't have them when I went through.

The website doesn't have mine - will be emailing them a copy.

BMTS 3723, Flt 477, Jun 1980. We were one of the first flights to get the "new" subdued tapes and stripes, so we went longer than normal as pickles (slick fatigues). Flights behind us had the white and blue, flights after us had the subdued from sew-on day. We were in the "notch" where they weren't issuing anymore "old", but they weren't ready to start sew-on quite yet.
