That gooseneck hitch is going to outlast the transmission and brakes on the tow vehicle.  He might want to adjust the aim on the headlights though.

there is know way that will turn! look how close the crush corner is to the car. and this is how it got the name crush corner.

My thoughts exactly!

There is not enough clearance to turn. The first corner encountered will result in crunched metal and broken glass.

Instead of the Griswolds going to Vegas to see 'cousin Eddie'; 'cousin Eddie' will be hitting the open road to visit them...

Reminds me of that car with the home air conditioner in the window with a generator on the trunk. Anyone have that picture?

I guess it's a good thing the tow vehicle has rear wheel drive

I think he needs some air shocks though, needs to pump it up a little...
...hope he has heavy duty tires. REALLY heavy duty tires.
...and heavy duty springs.
...and an uprated rear axle.
...and VERY heavy duty brakes.
...and a heavy duty transmission cooler.
...and MONGO sway braces.
...and a fully paid up AAA membership.

Uhm, was that tow vehicle a true body-on-frame ladder frame????? It's not a unibody, is it???

I just did that to get the trailer home after my el camino sh!t the bed.

It worked out fine.  Took it about 50 miles with no problems.  The pics don't do it justice, it really can turn.

In truth, I think the fifth-wheel cradle should not have been mounted on the tailgate. If possible it should have been bolted directly to the frame.

man that is amazing! i have never seen such craftsmanship.  i mean he even cut down the 2x4 to fit in the original hitch.  i'm amazed that we don't see any fence posts cut down and welded to the tailgate for support on the hitch.  that would just be awsome there.

I agree. Still needs baling wire and duct tape too

The picture is obviously a static, pre-trip picture.  What you are all missing is the fact that the toothless 350 lbs chainsmoking MIL is presently not in the back of the trailer, taking some of the weight off the hitch.  Also, the 300# wife and ice cream eating 275# 12 year old Junior are not in the cab of the blazer (Part of juniors job is to sit on the front end of the hitch support, and keep the trailer light wiring hooked up).  This added ballast will result in a dynamically ballanced combination.

They must be headed to Pocono Raceway this weekend for the Nascar race.  That place is a haven for Rednecks.  I have NEVER seen anything like it.  Seriously.

No way that's mine.

A. I camp in tents. Trailers are for pussies.

B. I don't own a truck or SUV right now.

C. I would never own a Chevy or GMC Truck/SUV.

I'd love to see this person stop that thing once he gets rollin

He has to stop slowly, because if he doesn't his Mother in Law falls off the hood and the front tires rise up again.  She's heavy enough to keep them down and level the ride.
