I think CMJ is spot on with this one...for now. An aweful lot can happen between now and November. Remember Dukakass? 2 week before the election the MSM was declaring him the winner by a landslide. Tonight you are hearing the most absolute leftist puke come out of the MSM, who are taking one shot after another at McCain while praising an inexperienced racist and a power mad nutjob who would be in jail for a long time if it were you or me commiting the crimes she has.

A lot could happen with this and it hasn't even ramped up yet. I would like to think that most Americans are not stupid enough to vote for a Dem, yet they control congress thanks to the MSM. Hopefully the bloggers can put a big dent in the lies coming from the left and their MSM puppets (or is it the other way around??).

The toughest thing I will have to worry about in the short term will restraining myself from doing violence to my TV set whenever a Dem or their sock puppets invade my home with their lies.

Onward......

Your math is wrong based on ignoring the 2002 reapportionment from the 2000 census.  Your numbers are based on out of date information.

It would have been a Gore victory but not a Kerry victory.

That map is a Republican victory as it currently sits.  Bush would still have won without Iowa and NH.

Not sure what you're saying.

The electoral votes shown are from current data and the map shows a Dem victory.

If a state electoral count is wrong, I don't see which state is wrong. Can you say which state(s) has the wrong count?

i186.photobucket.com/albums/x103/The_Macallan/Stuff/USA_RB.gif

It's easy:

Take this map and make it match yours.  The only difference is Iowa.  Take 7 from Bush and give it to Kerry.  Now it matches.

www.race2004.net/maps-2004/map4d.gif

Properly corrected,  your original map would have:

Obama 259

McCain 279

The 2002 reapportionment gave more EV's to Texas, Florida and several southern states.  More than enough to offset the loss of NH which may have even lost an EV if IIRC.

Edit:  Your numbers are current, It's your math that's wrong.

Well I'll be. You're right. The numbers were not current. There was an error in them.

That's what I get for using Wikipedia for my numbers.

You guys are missing out on something very important.

There are so many people who absolutely detest the idea of either a black person or a woman becoming President,  without even addressing the issues,  who didn't much care
about one white male candidate vs. another white male candidate,   who will, this time,
be motivated to vote against Obama and Clinton even if it's the first time they've ever
voted in their lives.

The turnout AGAINST Hillary or Obama will be larger than anyone anticipates.  It will
motivate people to vote against them in enormous numbers,  ESPECIALLY in the
months following the Democratic convention when ALL of the Republicans with an axe
to grind will unleash the hounds.   ALL truths about Hillary or Obama, as required,
will be made abundantly and blatantly clear to people who never really thought about the
actual positions and beliefs of those people before.   You will see the mother of all
attack ad campaigns, and THEY WILL BE EFFECTIVE.

Obama is racist against white people.  This will be made abundantly clear beyond any possible doubt or argument.    He has had a long association with a church that preaches
black liberation theology, and just now broke his membership with it for obvious attempts
at damage control.   Black liberation theology says, in brief, do not worship a white god,
and all a white man can do to be acceptable to the follower of black liberation theology
is to be ashamed of the color of his skin and apologize for it.

Obama is a full-on, screaming Marxist if not an outright Communist.  This, too, will be
abundantly clear.

Obama will cut our military off at the knees,  and he's said so,  many times, in different
ways but the result is the same no matter how he says it.

Obama wants to "give" us social programs like universal health care that will not be free,
they will be hideously expensive, and the money comes from just one source:  More
taxes for the taxpayer.

Obama wants to penalize those who are smart with their money, in the form of additional
taxes for higher income people.

The American Way does not exist in Obama's world.

Hillary, if she gets the nomination, will be subject to tailored attack ads that will be every
bit as devastating, if not more so.

Make no mistake,  whether it's Hillary or Obama,  the Democratic nominee is going to
suffer a major asskicking by means of the truth about him or her being presented to
all Americans in a very compelling manner.

That candidate will not survive when it comes to the final election.  McCain will win,
particularly if he chooses a strong and moderate running mate.

CJ

I totally agree with you.  There is just one thing that you are missing.  The people that are going to be voting for Obama WANT socialism.  Young stupid students, welfare recipients, Social Security recipients, poor people and democrats will vote for this man.

You have to remember that what he says is not new FDR did the same things and he is revered as the one of the greatest presidents of all time.

Put the two together and McCain is going to get ass raped in November.

Where is this anticipated backlash supposed to come from? All the Republicans who say they're going to sit out this election because they don't want to vote for a RINO and hope that four to eight years of Hitlery and Osama are going to make the GOP more conservative again? Southern and Western Virginia is much like small town America from Haymarket, VA to the Mississippi River.  What is to set it apart and make conservative families uproot and move there?

The reason the Dummycratic assholes flock to NoVA is because there are diverse companies, large government contracts, increased income and nice houses - relative to the towns they are leaving.

Why move to Vinton, VA when you can get the almost identical experience in your hometown of Leetonia, OH??  Why would parents bring their children to the school system of Montgomery County VA when they can have a national leader in schools in  Fairfax County??

I predict a landslide McCain victory.
Today I am reading reports of several demographics normally a lock for Democrats, such as older white women, are falling away from the Democrap camp in droves. Obama will be repeatedly Swift-Boated due to his undoubtedly shady past in Chicago politics. Legacy media no longer controls distribution of information, and 1) will not be able to bury anything by ignoring it, and 2) make it obvious that they are shilling for Obama by their tone and editing.

Interesting looking at the individual polls.  If Rassmusen is at all accurate, McCain wins big.
Also what is insightful is looking at the states that were strong for W in '04 are now pretty week.  Who the hell would have thought that some of the conservative mid-west states would be close, but typical Democrat states such as  Michigan and some in the north east would be as equally close.
