The problem with McConnell and his buddies is they are afraid once the people see what can be accomplished by a president that actually gives a damn, they will be forever outed as the useless fucks they really are.

Pres. Trump will have his way with the old whores and they hate him for it.

The turtle is on his last ride, so he really doesn't care. The rest of the GOP should remember that DJT was elected because a large amount of voters were tired of politicians.

The relationship between President Trump and Senator Mitch McConnell, the majority leader, has disintegrated to the point that they have not spoken to each other in weeks, and Mr. McConnell has privately expressed uncertainty that Mr. Trump will be able to salvage his administration after a series of summer crises.

What was once an uneasy governing alliance has curdled into a feud of mutual resentment and sometimes outright hostility, complicated by the position of Mr. McConnell’s wife, Elaine L. Chao, in Mr. Trump’s cabinet, according to more than a dozen people briefed on their imperiled partnership. Angry phone calls and private badmouthing have devolved into open conflict, with the president threatening to oppose Republican senators who cross him, and Mr. McConnell mobilizing to their defense.

The rupture between Mr. Trump and Mr. McConnell comes at a highly perilous moment for Republicans, who face a number of urgent deadlines when they return to Washington next month. Congress must approve new spending measures and raise the statutory limit on government borrowing within weeks of reconvening, and Republicans are hoping to push through an elaborate rewrite of the federal tax code. There is scant room for legislative error on any front.

A protracted government shutdown or a default on sovereign debt could be disastrous — for the economy and for the party that controls the White House and both chambers of Congress.

Yet Mr. Trump and Mr. McConnell are locked in a political cold war. Neither man would comment for this story. Don Stewart, a spokesman for Mr. McConnell, noted that the senator and the president had “shared goals,” and pointed to “tax reform, infrastructure, funding the government, not defaulting on the debt, passing the defense authorization bill.”

There is an argument to be made that electing a democrat for six years and then voting her out would be preferable to keeping McConnell. A junior democrat senator has far less power to screw the conservative agenda than McConnell. He has to go. Sometimes you have to take a step back to find a new path forward.

His job is to sit in the middle? Lol no. Thats why he loses. His job is to advance the party platform and do what he said he will do.

Can you name any significant conservative legislation that he is responsible for? The only good thing he accomplished was stonewalling the supreme court nomination, though I seriously think he would have been afraid to return home had he let obamas pick in there.

The reason that conservatives lose is that liberals "ram partisan legislation down the country's throat" very well, and weaksauce republicans fight that fire with a squirt gun, and compromise when they are in power. The only logical explanation is that they like big government as much as the democrats do, they just cant campaign that way.  Now that the democrat party is going full on socialist and cultural marxist, there is no such thing as "decent" legiislation if you compromise with them. Marxism and personal liberty are mutually exclusive concepts.

He has to go. Even if it means a democrat replaces him. Clearly the conservative cause will be forever hamstringed as long as he is running it. Even if it means kentucky suffers for it. The stakes are too great for the status qou to continue.

Yes as the Majority Leader he is in the middle managing the "true conservative" right wing side, libertarian side, and the moderate side of the Republican party in order to get things done.  He then has to work with the Democrats in order to get some of them on board as well.  His job is to advance the party platform but the only way that he can do that is by working with others and getting them to come on board.  If he stood off to one side and demanded everyone just do what he says, what do you think would happen?  Absolutely nothing would.  So yes, he has to be the one that reaches out and bridges the gap between all the various factions of both parties.

McConnell isn't going anywhere until he decides to retire.  He is funded and answers to the rich elite.  They will not let their power and control slip away.  Same with Ryan.  This last election when they started fundraising his primary opponents raised a couple hundred thousand, Ryan walked in with a 14 million dollar check from the rich elite.

Everyone I know voted for McConnell but also hated voting for McConnell as not a single person I know liked him.  But he is better than the alternative.  If McConnel gets replaced then another GOPe RINO is going to be chosen by the GOPe to replace him.  They will not let their power and control slip away.

Fake News

Mitch McConnell disputes Trump feud claim: 'We are working together'

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday disputed a report that he's no longer talking to President Trump, saying sources for that story are out of the loop.

"The President and I, and our teams, have been and continue to be in regular contact about our shared goals," McConnell said in a statement. "We are working together to develop tax reform and infrastructure legislation so we can grow the economy and create jobs; to prevent a government default; to fund the government so we can advance our priorities in the short and long terms; to pass the defense authorization and defense appropriations bills so we can support our troops and help implement an effective strategy against ISIL; to provide relief from Obamacare; and to continue our progress for our nation's veterans."

The New York Times reported Tuesday McConnell and Trump have not spoken in weeks and held a profanity-laced shouting match over the phone after the Senate GOP failed to advance a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.

McConnell, R-Ky., did not address the claim about the call in his statement.

"We have a lot of work ahead of us, and we are committed to advancing our shared agenda together and anyone who suggests otherwise is clearly not part of the conversation," McConnell said.

I never liked the turtle, but just out of curiosity I looked up his Wikipedia page (something I've started to do anytime I see someone saying retarded stuff). He is definitely the definition of a swamp critter- no real job history that doesn't include government and someone that has become exceedingly wealthy while only being employed in an elected position. He isn't much different than a republican version of Biden or Bernie.

McConnell has no allegiance to the conservative agenda, that is the problem. The moderates are holding way more influence than the "true conservatives" and the moderates actually ran on a conservative agenda. It is only when they get to Washington and they receive their kickbacks and marching orders that they piss away the conservative agenda and grab tightly onto the big government agenda. McConnell and his cronies encourage them with slush funds and endorsements to carry out the big government wishes.

Edit: In other words, McConnell is telling the moderates what to do, not the other way around, and holding power, money and influence over them to do so.

McConnell and his buddies had better learn to set their egos aside and work with Trump, or they are going to get murdered in the next election.  Their goal right now seems to be to obstruct Trump, and to prevent him from getting re-elected in 2020, not to help America fix the 8 years of Obama damage.  That is a disastrous plan for the GOP, although it could be good in the long-term, if it allows for a third party to replace them.

WRONG!  No Senator Majority Leader is going to be primaried, never going to happen.  So that leaves the Democrat that ran against McConnell, which is apparently who you wish was in McConnell's seat right now.  She ran as a right leaning Democrat for the Senate but ended up as our Secretary of State instead.  As Secretary of State she has refused to let any federal agency review any of the election records and just recently issued a huge new policy to all the county clerks on election procedures without authority and without talking to any of the clerks ahead of time.  She is playing hard core liberal politics...and apparently you want her as our Senator because you think she will be more friendly to Republicans than Mitch.

Mitch and Ryan should be replaced but the chances of removing the House or Senate leader in a primary is pretty much zero, given the money and influence they have.  Both Mitch and Ryan were against Trump from the beginning.  Their true colors have now been revealed without question and Trump isn't taking it sitting down.  This will be an interesting showdown, if it even exists given the source of the quote.  I will put my money on Trump, especially after the rally that he just gave.

Someone once said no House Speaker would lose a General Election, I am pretty sure they made that guarantee to Speaker Tom Foley back in 1993. They said the same thing about Eric Cantour when he was the House Whip back in 2013. Turn outs, when people get pissed off enough they do shit like Primarying a House Whip and sending a House Speaker home during a General Election.
