Yeah because MS13 was just waiting for it to be legal for them to carry.  They would never disregard the law.

I heard that most of them wrote their representatives in support of this bill.

about to get a TX license...soo should I not bother getting a CCW

This bill is only out of committee, it has not yet passed.  If you can afford it, I'd go ahead and get the license to carry.  It would likely to be Sept. before the law went into effect, if passed.  Could even be January.   With the crime and crazy racial problems, I'd want to carry sooner that later.

If this would remove the 30.06 sign provision, and let any "No Guns Allowed" signage have legal effect, I would have a problem with it.

Have you read the bill?

I doubt it will pass. We have too many big government Republicans here

Probably not going to happen. Still too many moderate republicans who think they'll keep their offices if their district turns blue.

Not yet, but it's going to be in a couple weeks.

The "conservative" opponents of 1911/375 are using that as an excuse for opposition.

1911 has a slim chance. 375 has none no matter what people here want to believe. It wont get out of committee, especially with 1911 already through in the house.

The legislators are trying to balance a very thin line - they need to support law enforcement but the higher profile LE groups are union run liberals who are anti gun and have come out against 1911/375 just like they did CHL in the 80's and campus carry a couple years ago.  It's the same story over and over here...small step and wait to see if the "rivers of blood in the streets" prophesied by the liberals materialize. When they don't, we can move forward again.

I'm not positive, but I don't think MS13 has a strong presence in Texas.

We should ban guns since bad people applaud the second amendment making guns available.
