I've been around firearms sense I was born [baby]  (thanks dad!) always had dads to shoot, and my brother-in-laws who is a sheriff deputy.

Ruger 10/22...... Got if for my 10th b-day.... I had plenty of high powered (Sheridan, Beemans) pellet rifles up until that point. But this was my first 'real' gun of my own.

At 16 when most where excited about getting thier drivers license, I saved my money after a summer of working and bought a Norinco AK (cost me $448 NIB), my sister had to sign for it. Had enough money left over and bought a S & W 422 .22 cal pistol a few weeks later at a gun show (when gun show where gun shows, no waiting period then) dad had to sign for that!

Also had sis sign for a Taurus 669 .357 mag with a 6" barrel the following summer....

A Ruger 10/22.  I used to shoot Chipmunks after school with it.  I still have it somewhere and boy is that think worn out.

My first was a used Winchester Model 12 (12 gauge) for Christmas in 1979.I was 14 way back then.  My first handgun was a year later, a S&W Model 19 with a six inch barrel. The first one I was able to buy on my own was a Colt Combat Commander in satin nickle. I lost them all in a divorce in 1988. I wish I had those three back (among others).

My first gun I owned was a 45 auto, Colt Gov't model, series 80.  Standard blued pistol.  I got it at Walmart in 1985, back when they were cleaning out their stock.

Great gun still with me.  Many rounds have been thru that gun.

My first gun was a .22lr Remington 550-1, that was the family gun my grandmother "handed down" to me on my 10th birthday.
The first gun I bought my self was a .22lr Squires-Bingham "M-16", I bought when I was 15 (Dad had to sign). I've had this Black Rifle Disease from the begining.[;)]

Marlin Model 80, .22 bolt action in 1952, with money saved from the $2 a week I made delivering the Springfield, Mass. Shopping News paper. Dad didn't own any guns, so got me hooked up with an NRA sponsered Junior Rifle Club.

Put Lyman reciever  and front globe type sights on it, went thru the NRA qualification stages.  Been shooting ever since[:D]

Wish I still had it.  Gone so many years now I can't even remember when I sold it or why.  Probaly because I had the hots for some other gun.

My father's old winchester 270, not .270, Model 270 pump that shot ".22 short, long and long rifle".

I got it when I was 12, and my sister and I shot many many boxes of .22s out of it in the woods near our house. We used to save money and buy them at the kmart a buch at a time to get the discount.

It was the late 70s/early 80s. Then they put a freeway in and the woods are now gone, home of several big boxes today.

Still have the rifle, and just took it out last month. Someday I want to find some shorts and see if I can shoot without plugs.

I got a surplus British .303 made by Savage Arms. It has U.S. Property stamped on it. My mom bought it for me with my money from W.T. Grants department store in 1961 when I was 15 years old. I've still got it now.

My first firearm was the HK USC carbine. Oh, I loved lobbing those big 230 gr .45 slugs especially at appliances. [:D]

I remembered the CorBon slugs went nearly all the way threw every sheet of metal on a washing machine and that we put enough into it put my head through the subsequent hole... And yes, ammo cost alot. [BD]
