Move your plasma to the bedroom and upgrade that TV to something bigger and nicer.  Too heavy?  Ask your husband to help.

Heavier than I would like to be hanging up. Surely some of the modern tv's are substantially lighter.

the 42" flat plasma in the living room that wont die weighs a good 80+ pounds and cost almost $2000 7 years ago
the 32" flat hanging on the bedroom wall. weighs maybe 8 pounds lol

pretty crazy how much lighter tvs are these days

plasma runs hot and uses more power, plus heavier too - LED/LCD is the way to go, less power, heat and weight.

Eta: not sure the differences are at a point I would discount a Plasma because they are heavier and use more energy

but it does run hot, i have a samsuck plasma and switched to another samsuck led in my man cave and the heat makes it not as fun in the summers

How was the heat of the LED compared to the plasma?

I hope they will add a spec line in the future titled; Heat Generated:

I just got a 50" Panasonic Plasma.

Heat? felt the screen at the store, theres not much, and those tv are running 8+ hours a day ?

Plasma appear darker, and less bright compared to the LEDs, but the store lights are cranked way up and wash it out. This could hurt plasma sales, and make people think LEDs are better picture quality. The LED screens brightness are cranked way up, my eyes actully hurt when TV shopping.

Plasma is heavier, but its a GLASS screen, not plastic. But is not as heavy as a 1970s zenith.

The only down side to plasma is glare, but nowadays they are starting to minimize it.

They already have that. It's called Watts

My 50" Panasonic plasma pulls over 500 watts. It's hot.
