Post images of the targets. The descriptions in the links are not promising. ? If I posted them as images, they wouldn't print the right size. The links are to printable PDFs. Show an image so we can see how they look. I can't download anything right now, and I'm not certain I want to later when I can. Do you intend those to be your "official" targets? Yep. I won't be too picky though, as long as all groups are on one target. http://i43.tinypic.com/14tpu77.jpg There's a similar target with small BFL's. I prefer the BFL's over the diamonds, I just can't get the image from the pdf. Those are unacceptable to use with iron sights, but at least they aren't orange. |

I did the challenge THIS year LINK, so I'm reposting my "ok" results. As you can see my shooting bench was the fucked up one and had to use my stapler to get the proper elevation.
All targets measured using a LaRue Tactical ruler that goes to the hundredths. 1.238 1.075 .798 .7603 .531 Average: .8805moa |

Dude, there are like 5 different versions made up, you'll be fine. The one I made was specifically for iron sights, it will work... ETA: This one was the one I made up for Iron sights and optics. It is large so you can see it at 25 yards and 50 yards with irons. It is a hollow black diamond with a second hollow black diamond surrounding the smaller one. Multiple aiming points so you will be good to go. Downloadable target The link takes you to a PDF file that shows a picture of the target. |

Quoted: Absolutely . I'm always interested to see what folks are wringing out of the latest factory barrels with common ammo , as well as whatever is availible for match ammo .......not just someones White Oak match chamber pipe in the latest bullet-proof billet wonder receivers with hand rolled mega-loads Quoted: Excellent! Shame I don't own an MOA capable semi-auto. May dust off the bolt gun for this if I get some time home though! If you shoot, your score gets posted regardless, just not on the honorary MOA list. Honestly, I think its good when there are results from more standard AR set-ups because it helps show the realistic accuracy potential from them. I posted a 1.6 MOA average last year with my SPR. Information is good . . . .more information is better . Especially in the coming months . Followed the link from the 'tricked out 700' thread.
Gonna have to do this. Finishing up a rifle that will get posted up. In this case because I don't think it will be capable of .5 MOA. Lightweight Chilean Mauser .308Win, custom built by me. We'll see how it does. Then I'll dig out my other rifles. Need to send this to a buddy. He has a dedicated A2 .22rf with irons that was built with a pulled off Anschutz barrel. Need to put him to the test! |

You ought to do it again without the rear sand bag, its a disqualifier for the regular bolt gun category and puts you in "unlimited". Great job though. I'll be surprised if we see it beat anytime soon. I thought it said small rear bags were OK?? Mine is 6" long and as round as a baseball,I keep it in my drag bag(LE Sniper). I'll shoot it again tomorrow with only hand support. My data book says the rifle averages .44 at 100 with that load for the last 786 rounds, all at POA. I'll take it. |

Place holder.... It may be a little while, though... Gotta make that money.

I'm gonna try to get in on this. So a rear sandbag is okay as long as its not one that holds the rifle on its own?
NVM, saw the edit |

Got some sprinkler pipe I just pulled out of the ground...might have to fashion a rifle and give this a go...

I'm curious about the shooting jacket restriction, really, (I lack the facilities and abilities to compete here) as it seems kinda silly if bipods are allowed. A jacket doesn't really do much other than make shooting with a sling a little easier...And it's certainly less of a contribution to accuracy than a bipod.
|
|
I'm in for the service category. Is using a 1907-style loop sling cool or is that considered "strapping the rifle into something"?
|

I'll throw up my targets after i get back from the range Friday. I will be shooting my AR with optic at 100 and a .22 with optic at 50, maybe 100 yards if the wind is on my side.

In on 2 placeholder...next trip out I'll throw 25 at some BFLs.

Place holder for tomorrow pending wind.
And if I put my noveske switch block in the off position what category does that put me in. |

Tag for the future hilarity and rage of larue OBR owners finding out their rifles are not in fact sub moa all day long
But, but, they were in transformers But, but it was so accurate in medal of honor But, but they were used to win a recreation sniper competition But, but chris costa was able to shoot one to a mile |

I think the idea behind it was that most people do not have a shooting jacket and its not something you would have in any type of fighting scenario, whereas bi-pods are basically standard on precision rifles. Not 100% sure though since I didn't right the rules. |

If there's some reason you cant or wont shoot those, post the reason and it'll still count. 5 groups on one paper is absolute though. |

Can we post our hand up under our stock for support in the rear?
|

Quoted:
Can we post our hand up under our stock for support in the rear? That's fine. The whole idea is that the shooter has to maintain control of the rifle to some degree without mechanical assistance on the rear of the gun. |
