Maybe someone with a little knowledge will post.. View Quote Edit: If your worried about a massive super-storm on epic portions don't be. BP earthwatch loves to fear monger and doomsday cast. Just because 2 storms merge with each doesn't mean they become a monster. Quite the opposite in fact. They can weaken each other. |

So, if this guy is right, every city on the East Coast will be destroyed by 250-500 mph winds (sustained and gust), or submerged by 100 foot storm surges?

If Earth were Jupiter this storm would be like the Great Red Spot, except that it wouldn't be red...it would be white, and it wouldn't be great (at least not according to "Jupiter Standards" or JS for purposes of brevity), it would instead be semi-great, so it would instead perhaps be called the Semi-Great Spot if it were on Jupiter, but since we're on Earth it would in fact be "Great" by ES (Earth Standards) but most likely not by JS, so we can safely call it the Great White Spot of Earth.

Guy on the video had a slight lisp.
If the superstorm doesn't show up, is he gonna be like, "Just kidding, y'all. Hope you didn't go out and buy a ton of bread and water." |

Seems like every cloud that passes has the potential to end life as we know it according to the Weather Channel.

So some guy is looking at a chart and predicting weather 5 days out? I'll have a coke.
People love to predict gloom and doom, then when something finally happens they brag about being right and predicting it, even though 99% of their other predictions never came true. |

@pcsutton Everything I ever hears says when two storms merge they tend to wash each others strength to a certain extent. Does that trip across the Atlantic cancel this effect out with time to regain? View Quote Everything I reading on Invest 91 has it taking a path into the Gulf or hitting Florida, but it's still a few days early to make even an educated guess what's going to happen with it. |

What would you consider a realistic "Superstorm"? Or what would you consider the closest thing to one that is on record? View Quote The life of a hurricane is based on it's banding structure and it's cyclic oscillations. A storm can NEVER grow beyond the physical limitations of the tropopause. As storms deviate away from the equator, the upper altitudes of Hadley cells are limited. |

If we call it a superstorm, the people that it impacts can be double special super victims.
