My uncle is a civilian DOD employee in SK. He just moved there last year from italy. Might should have stayed in italy...

I'll just go ahead and say I'm an idiot and this likely a routine response to a nuke test.
That out of the way, based on the Twitter info it sounds like things are quite a bit more sporty than what would be typical. |

I spent a year up near the DMZ 1974-1975.
There was a naval raid on Pusan Harbor, two commercial airliners shot at, one helicopter hit and forced down due to damage, several short fire fights in the DMZ, a tunnel found into So Korea and an I Corp soldier killed by a booby-trap, and the "Ax" murders in the DMZ over cutting down a tree shortly after I transferred to Fort Jackson. At least 6 actual "combat alerts"... and it pretty much routine at the time for it never to hit the US news. |

If it did happen, that war would be catastrophic for South Korea, isn't artillery locked in from North Korea onto Seoul?

Business as usual.
Norks tested a nuke - we show them our planes are ready to wreck everything on a moments notice. |
