I've got one of those in the safe. It was NIB when I bought it and I ran one mag through it. Cleaned and put it away. I've got a couple of newer ones that I shoot.

Love mine. Had it since 2011, gun show find for $500 with three mags and no box. I shoot the shit out of it. Soft shooting and accurate.

Is it normal the grips don't say p226 on them? View Quote If you plan on shooting it a bunch, get the Short Reset Trigger. |

Can't hurt to send it in to Sig for the Sig Service Plan. They do good work.

My first ever pistol was a Sig P226. I think I paid about $375 for a police trade-in many, many years ago.
Yours is in better condition than mine, but the only issue mine has is some of the finish on the grip is missing and the sights need replacing. |

I recently received a like new p220 made in 95. I never cared for Sigs until now. Much nicer than the current Sigs.

The pistol isn't that complex, and there are umpteen number of vids out there on how to disassemble. And you can install the short reset trigger while you're at it TGS in Chesterland Ohio usually has every part in stock that you need View Quote Just my humble opinion. |

But i suppose as preventative i think ill grab a new recoil spring and toss it in there(this one i bet is original) and a roll pin for the breech block? anything else to be aware of? |

Mine is just a true German pistol (not W. German). But it was technically proofed in the West. Not the original grips. Mine were chewed up so I replaced them with newer ones. Nice pistol.

ran 6 mags through it today of FMJ bulk stuff. Ran like a champ, that trigger takes getting used to though letting it all the way out to the reset, might have to look into the short reset trigger.

AWESOME thread. Buddy of mine a few months ago claimed he recently saw a west german p226 for sale for $600 at a local gun store. I immediately asked details, and purchased it the following day. Comes in plastic factory clam shell case, original target with proof marks and signatures of tester, and one shitty although working mecgar 10 round mag.
I didn't steal it, but for being behind enemy lines here in NY, i did well. My best friends dad, which was a nam vet, was like a father to me. He got me into our hobby. He died in 2010. His favorite gun which he wore on his hip daily was a west german sig p226. His bitch of a wife sold all his guns to his aquaintances which he hated, and left myself, his son, and loving nephew completely high and dry. Fuck her. So when this came up for sale, it was one of my grail guns. I can't have johnnys sig, but i got one like it. Oh yeah, fuck that cunt. Attached File Is imgur not a go here? Im pasting the link to a pic in the box, but when submitting, nothings there? |

Anybody here know where to get blued grip screws. The west German guns use a small diameter screw and i cant find shit online. Found some stainless on ebay need blued slotted.
Maybe Sig can send me some. They're closed now |

So what is a u612 serial numbered railless P226 in 40 worth? I think it is a West German frame and was made around '98 or '99. Says Exeter, NH on Slide. Pretty much immaculate.

I've got an 88 vintage. At the time I was carrying a series 70 Colt in the Sheriff's Office when Highway patrol started getting a new pistol from Sig. had to have one. Have the same yellow box. Grips are all scarred from the fights, etc., a patrol pistol sees. Just resides in the safe now as I don't like the double/ single action transition as much as I like a Glock trigger. With that said, if I had to bet my life on a 50 yard shot, it would be my old 226. Youve got a keeper OP!

|
Better go get that 225. Post up a pic of the back of your mags. Zipper?
