You would need to re-check zero every time you took it down.

Haven't they figured that out?

Seems like a lot of $$$ for what you're getting.  You could throw Nodak sights and a trigger kit on a stock 10/22 and add a garand sling for about the same price.

Shot show photographer needs to upgrade to one of the newer potatoes with image stabilization.

Nice little plinker. But a little pricey to me.

I had Nodak Spud sights(Similar to the setup on this Appleseed rifle)  and a red dot on my take down....In the year I had I had it it never shifted zero and I broke it apart afterwards every time I shot it.

Appleseed isn't a 'target' activity.  It's basic marksmanship training.  Why would they put a target hammer and sear into such a rifle?

This is beautiful.  I dearly love this rifle, and the spirit of what it embodies.

Again, that stock was spec'd in the contest and has a purpose.

I hope Walmart starts to carry this model, that should shave a bunch off the MSRP.
I wouldn't mind picking up two for my wife and I to share.

I dont know if you can still do this or not...but 6-7 years ago you could order basically the entire Ruger catalog through Walmart as long as it was a rifle or shotgun. I ordered a 10/22 sporter and I had to look though the order book to find it. So even if they dont carry it, you might be able to get it through them.

Functionality has a beauty of its own.

It seems a little expensive for what you get, considering that I've seen no mention of an improved trigger, but there are plenty of folks who lack the confidence/interest in modifying a firearm (even one as ridiculously easy as the 10/22).
I don't know if I'll ever get one, but I don't hate it.

I think butt ugly plastic stocks are more and more going to become a standard. Fine wood stocks will just be a luxury item.

THIS! I would buy one right away.

Its about $140 to have a barreled action threaded. Kind of takes away the deal the American Rimfire is.

My Ruger Mark III Pistol came with a flash hider mounted and a thread protector in the box. The FH seems really stupid on a .22LR pistol.

I almost has one threaded for a flash suppressor once. After that picture I'm glad I didn't.
