I used to carry an earlier model Thunder 380 with aluminum frame, and I was surprised with how accurate they were... I shouldn't have been surprised though - it does have a fixed barrel and blowback action. Mine used to LOVE eating Hydrashoks all day long. I owned it for 3 years, and fired 8000 rounds through it...
It would eat any quality ammo you put into it - especially hotter CCW hollow-point ammo.
It would malfunction (FTF/Stovepipes, and Shortstroking) with Barnaul and other shit-russian ammo.
The gun was dropped on concrete, which caused the cast-steel slide-mounted thumb safety to snap off- but the gun still fired just fine... That happened around 2000 or 3000rds, and around 8000rds the trigger return spring snapped. A quick phone call, and the gun was off to the repair place within a day or so... It was returned within about a week. Even though it came with a 1 year warranty (IIRC), they covered it 2 and 3 years later - all repairs done under warranty.
Pretty good little gun for the money, and I'd definitely buy another one.
The major pros:
Reliable.
Accurate.
Decent Trigger & Safety.
Lightweight
Disappears with a quality comp-tac holster - even on small framed people.
cons:
Some parts cast steel.
Will rust easily when finish wears over time.
Replace the recoil spring every 3000rds or the aluminum frame will take a beating.
Magazines were expensive - used to cost ~$40 each if I remember correctly...
Back then I paid $235 out the door for my old Duo-Tone...
