That happened because people who moved to places like AZ from the midwest wanted to have lawns.

They moved to CA, AZ, NV, etc. bringing ragweed and other undesirable exotic plants with them.

Yup. I was reading the other day that the ragweed that came with grass seed that was grown and harvested in other states (namely the midwest) is how it has spread so much in the Southwest.

Lawns in the desert. What a waste of water.

I was out in the woods and weeds this morning. I did this sinus rinse when I got home. Takes some getting used to but feels great for a lil' while...

I grew up n the Midwest and as a kid I was highly allergic to ragweed.  Ended up in the ER on a few occasions.  Now I am no longer  affected by it.  Last year I was cutting a a field full of ragweeds on a property I own back there, the pollen turned my JohnDeere yellow.  Everything was covered in pollen.  My eyes were a bit itchy and I sneezed a couple of times.  Had that been when I was a kid, I would have died.

I used to go to Alaska or some Northern region during the peak ragweed season, plus the shots and now living in a less humid environment did something to change my system.

My Allergist  said that when I get older that my allergies may return with a vengeance.  He also said that I could develop allergies to something in my new environment.
