The last time the Red Sox won the World Series there followed a great plauge and millions died worldwide.

WOW! The Red Sox won!
Congratulations! You just reached 19% of the record the Yankees have run up in the same time frame! WAY TO GO! Think of it! France has wone more battles than you have World Series! Oh, and you STILL lost the FUCKING METS for Pete's sake! Old fan loyalties die hard! |
Thank goodness. now we can ditch all that BS about a curse Curse my a**, The city did send a team to the WS many, many, times since 1918, which is more than most can say. Now go set something on fire! |
Or get a raquet on a 150mph serve.... |
WAAAAAAAHHHH!!!! All that REALLY matters is what you've done lately. We beat the Yanks mercilessly, and stoned the NL best team. Acceptance is the last stage of griving. You'll get there. |
Congratulations on finally measuring up t the Yankees!
Well, only by 19%, but who's counting? Tell me, did the Cardinals even hit the ball this WS? |
I heard on the radio that Schilling was on Good Morning America and the end of the interview, the last thing he asked people to do was go out and vote......for Bush.
Can anyone confirm this? |
Is this the pitcher with the bad foot? I'd forget my own name if I didn't have to write it 50 times a day.... |
Only 25 more to go sox's are 1/26th the franchise the YANKEES are.
More like 5/26...... About 19%..... ETA: MAN, does THAT not show how long it's been since they won last? |
That's the one. |
All joking and fan-BS-ing aside, THAT man deserves an MVP or Cy Young or whatever JUST for his performance in the post-season.
Talk about selfless dedication! If he endorsed Bush, then he's REALLY on my thumbs-up list! |
Poor A-nus is still in the denial stage of grieving. Welcome to the curse of the ARod. You heard it here first. The only thing comparable to the Yankee impotence shown in the 2004 ALCS is the Buckner debacle. Four games in a row. The Yankee collapse = Buckner + Bucky Dent + 2 other failed Red Sox world series appearances. I'd be REAL concerned about the future - NOT crowing about the past, were I a fan of the Evil Empire. |
There never was a curse, that is just some bull shit desperate sux's fans came up with because they could't deal with the fact that there team SUCKED for almost a century. Only loosers believe in that corny shit. |
I hate baseball, but good for Boston. I like them now for beating the Yankees. Anyone who beats them is a team of mine
Anyone else not watch ONE STINKING minute of this series? WHO CARES?
Is that why I saw Yanks and Cards fans with the pics of Babe Ruths head??? Loosers indeed. FOUR GAME IN A ROW. BOTH OF 'EM. Please. Yer getting pathetic. Its kinda painful to watch. And us Sox fans know painful. Part of fixing a problem is admitting you have one. |
Math wise the Sox are 6/26 of the Yankmees.
They had won 5 of the first 15 world series 2004 = #6 |
Math is not taught in NY publik skuuls |
It's funny, but I've noticed that more people were rooting AGAINST the Yankees than FOR Boston. Mirrors the election.... Hope the election turns out differently! |
Woops! I thought 2004 was number 5. I pulled the number off of the MLB site this morning. Reckon they didn't update that page yet. |
You mean 1/13th guess you never learned how to reduce a fraction.
Red Sux's still suck |
I like how you think it takes balls to be a baseball player. I'll bet my life on most any collegiate wrestler to kick most any professional baseball players ass. |
Wow! Good Job Sox!
Now maybe the Boston PD can meet their murdered coed quota for 2004! |
If true, the Yankees suck WORSE. |
Well of course it takes more balls to be a baseball player than to be a wrestler. The are NO BALLS in wrestling. Nice leotards wrestlers wear tho. |
With that as a headline, you must work for the New York Times-Prava disinformation department. |
No they fired me for typing tasteless, humorless stuff! |
Well, you were good at your trade, then. |

35 arrests last night, but no riots. The JBT's were ready this time. No joke. It was on the news this morning... |
I can't believe I didn't bet on the game, especially since I'm in a country that allows betting. Sigh.
There were a ton of sox fans in the sports book, the whole casino erupted when they finally won. The three cards fans walked off dejectedly. For those of you who don't like baseball - fuck off, and go to another thread. I will always have fond memories of going to the ballpark with my old man. All I know is, if the Sox can do it ... the CUBS are next! They have to do it at least once before I die! Doc |
I'll tell ya..... I FEEL for those poor fans. Wow.... |
UNLIKE Yankees fans, us Red Sox fans WILL take joy in a Cubbies win. Yankees fans = pricks (with few exceptions) |
Believe me, the feeling is mutual. |

(Disclaimer: "you" is used generically here to mean 'Yankee fans I've observed.") Just my observation of the entitlement mentality to winning the World Series I see in nearly EVERY Yankees fan. And I know / have met plenty. Ya'll don't even get excited anymore when you win it. It means less to you than ANY OTHER fan in baseball. That's bad for baseball. When you DON'T win, you pout. You are incapable of showing joy in anyone elses success. After game 3 of the ALCS, I emailed a congrats to a Yankee fan friend of mine. He hasn't even returned my email yet. Another Red Sox friend called him after the Sox won the ALCS. Yankee fan won't return his calls. These are NOT isolated instances. Its pretty much universal to Yankee fans. Just re-read the Yankee fans in this or the other threads. When the Cubs win one finally, you won't care. Life ONLY has meaning when YOU win. When you lose, you ONLY hope the team that beat you loses. You can't even see that losing to the Sox means you lost to the BEST team in baseball. Or that in the Sox winning the WS, that you lost to the WS champs - which puts you in a better light. Your hate runs too strong You revel in humilating Red Sox fans. Hows that good for the game??? Winning means less than humuilating Sox fans. For myself, I don't really hate the Yankees, and I'm not THAT excited over a Sox win. The PURE JOY of it is in never having to hear the Yankee bastard fans talk of the meaningless "curse of teh bambino." Sorry to unload on you - wrong palce, wrong time. I feel better now. I'm free of Yankee fan humiliation. Life is good. Maybe now you'll understand how insufferable "you" Yankees fans are. IF you are willing to take a good look at yourself. |
I didnt see it but I hear it was a good one |
If you want my opinion, click here. BTW, being the team that has won five times the number of championships than the next closest team will do that to anyone, and raise the ire of those that haven't. It's the same reason we Americans are arrogant and have the sense of entitlement that we should win ever battle we fight. The issue arises in how we Yankee fans and we Americans comport ourselves when we AREN'T playing or in battle. It's a fine line, and some don't see it. Where I draw it is that baseball is a game, while war isn't. As for fans who act as you do, go read that other thread.... Peace, brother... |
