View Quote Agreed, and I have a NSR a KMR (and a SMR mk2 which isn't any of the above). I have nothing against keymod or mlok. I love my KMR. It compliments a light weight barrel nicely. But a lot of quad rails are battle proven and they are built like tanks. I won't be reaching for a sissy, pretty lightweight if the SHTF. I'll be going straight for the mod 0. |

Quad rails are about as sexy as Rosie O'Donnell. Both way past whatever their prime was and you would always rather see them covered up with something.

I follow a simple rule for my rifles. Use the correct rail. If it calls for a keymod because you want to use Noveske NSR panels, get a keymod. If it calls for an inexpensive ALG EMR MLOK so you can use some type 2 Magpul panels, go for it. If you see a Rifle length URX3 in the EE and Abradley, Samson-Dogg, Geno, or btoor2413 haven't scoured it up, go ahead and buy it! A couple recent builds which are going to get some BCM and Noveske keymod product: And one which is a simple build. Enjoy the process guys. Be glad we can pick what we want to use. |

So in summation; the guys that dont like the quad rail complain about the size of it (small hands), tears there hands up (soft hands), too heavy (do you even lift bro?). Does that come close? Then they seem to think that the newer hand guards are somehow new tech that is soo great, but they are using them on 50's tech rifles (AR's). So you still have no advanced tech argument, its like hooking up dolby surround sound to a phonograph.

All my rifles are old Noveske's with heavy quad rails. It would cost way too much to convert them all and it wouldn't make much difference anyway. I also hate key mod.

No. Functional is sexy. Slim is sexy. Useless weighty bumps are gross. https://i.imgur.com/zlz1qVcg.jpg You like ten year old boys better than titties... You think titties are useless? I know right? They are very useful, but one set is enough, just like the one small section of rail on MK4s/URX3s. |

Never cared for 'em. Hell I had a Badger Ordnance Stabilizer back when that was the only alternative.

Knights rails for the win. For those who complain about weight. We are talking ounces . If carrying the rail from the car to the range is too much. Maybe you should work out a little.

I had that SWS rail on my Noveske factory upper, and after three years or so I replaced it with a Dickmod NSR that was just a little longer. I really wanted to like it, but it doesn't work for me. Since then, I've replaced or sold most of my quads.
I prefer the smaller profile (medium hands here, thumb over grip with VFG) and smooth surfaces of both DM and MLok. Just because I like to start trouble, I prefer DM attachment. |
|
I still use JP ff tubes on everything. I can add a rail anyplace I need it.

Quad rails are gay. Wtf would you need all that rail for? For all your picatinny mounted tactical dildos? Not to mention uncomfortable to hold. The quad rails, not the dildos.
|
|
Skinny keymod handguards get too hot. I have them on some of my rifles but my go-to carbine has a full quad.

I'm a huge fan of the URX rail. I've recently also found that ADM makes the lowlight rail system. Appears to be a clone of URX 3.1. Troy- cheesy clamp LaRue- 19 pieces involving a strap wrench DD- is that an ASME approved bolted flange? MI- don't remember how it mounted, but it was definitely heavy URX- jam nut. I have to disagree with you. Between the extra weight and the cheese grater effect......quad rails suck in comparison. I never really had an issue with the "cheese grater affect"...on the contrary, I feel like I have a better grip with quad rails. Those complaining about the cheese grater effect have hands that are permanently softened by multiple nightly applications of hand lotion. That said, I have moved on from them as well. |

The rail in the OP looks like crap
I'd much rather have a Centurion or DD than that abortion. |

They call em cheese graters for a reason.
Have you ever tried to the clean the Cheetos dust out of the slots after a strenuous night of Tier1 stealth ops clearing rooms in Mom's basement? |

I hate full four rail systems.
I don't want the rail on the bottom except where I need to mount something, I don't like the little plastic covers, etc. The slick tubes that you can mount bits of rail to with full top rail are the best option, in my opinion. |
|
|
All I need to put on my rifle is a light and buis. I don't need or want all that extra rail space.
|
|
I doubt I'll ever buy another full quad rail, unless they're so cheap I can't pass them up.
Otherwise, I'll buy smooth, slim rails with only necessary picatinny, at most. |

Diamondhead. Screw ugly, bulky, non ergonomic, quad rails.
