BMI is a measure using ht and wt. As a point of reference, someone with a BMI of 27 is approximately 20 percent overweight. Athletes, as an example distance runners, often have a very low BMI. Two people can have the same BMI, but a different percent body fat. A bodybuilder with a large muscle mass and a low percent body fat may have the same BMI as a person who has more body fat because BMI is calculated using weight and height only.

Maybe we could challenge DU,or full-Auto.com to a scrimmage!

No actually I am 4'1", 235 years old this past March, and I weigh 1240 lbs. and have a BMI of 354.2, shoe size 1

Or I am 10'1", weigh 120, and have a BMI of 8.4, and have shoe size 83

It took a woman to dig up the BMI thing, I bet she always watches her weight like this: "OMG, how many calories was that peanut?"

TT, you are almost underweight, I bet you are closing in on those anorexic fashion models soon. What do those women have? A BMI of 2.1? Or -12.3???

Based solely on height and weight - you would be considered overweight if BMI is the sole indicating factor. You missed the comment regarding percentage of body fat and muscle mass.

There are always exceptions to rules.

That makes it pointless. I'm currently out of shape (working to rectify that) and it says my BMI is 23.7. Several years ago, when I was seriously exercising, I had a six pack & very low fat but I weighed 20 lbs more than I do now (muscle is heavy) and supposedly had a BMI of 26.5, meaning I was overweight. Thats just silly.
