So, they saw a TV show and are now going to act based on said TV show?

I think they will be in for a surprise. Cops raid those places all the time, if anyone was in there against their will, let the cops do their job.
But for the most part its bullshit. Its just sensationalist tv that uses sex and phony outrage to get ratings. Cause people are basically preverted motherfuckers.

That said, I pity these folks if/when they do run into sex slavery and the associated criminals. Sometimes the heavy lifting is best left to those obligated and equipped to do so.

Think about this for a minute.

If the people in a church group can find the place, so can the police.

Yet it's still there.

Why is that? Who's letting them operate? And are they going to help you when you call?

Your friend may find himself in the crosshairs of both a large criminal syndicate and whomever they are paying to stay open.

And even leaving that alone for a minute, have you ever tried to intervene in a domestic violence situation and end up having the woman you were helping, who was getting the stuffing kicked out of her a minute before, try to scratch your eyes out? And then lie to the police after to protect her man?

These women, if trafficked, are likely very traumatized and not thinking like a normal person. This is not a job for a layman, as well intended as I am sure they are.

Your friend is fighting out of his weight here.

There are legal requirements to be met which require manpower and ultimately money...and somebody has to approve that. i agree with this. if they do find people that are being held as sex slaves they are being held there by very bad people. these bad people are not going to give up or just roll over and release the ones they are enslaving b/c they are asked to. most likely you ask them to let someone go and their reply will be with a gun. they don't want to you leave and make trouble for them.

While you can never underestimate what they are capable of, most of the sleezballs aren't going to go to guns over a girl or two. It's not uncommon to see girls who have been snatched up off the street go back to their pimps either as a result of the mental/physical abuse or the drug addictions or both. Even if they do manage to convert a girl, there are plenty more out there. Most of the sleezeballs are going to be interested in keeping a low profile and continuing to run their business.

I am a christian and I do not support 'human trafficing' in any way, but how is this church member going to go about stopping it?

Funny I ran across this topic. My church has a college/singles group that is trying to stop human trafficing in my home city but all they do is put up posters and hand out little whistles that are suppose to symbolize something... I do not know? I don't think they are getting much done.

Some groups have been successful by just walking up to girls on the street corner and talking them into coming back to a shelter.
