Denny--
Paypal siezed your account. They are holding your funds for 180 days? Contact the State Atty General in your state about filing charges--I'm sure they can come up with something--Violating State Banking Regulations comes to mind first. The $$ figure shouldn't matter--if MO has requirements for banks (i.e.--if a bank closes your account, they may only have 30 days to pay up), Paypal may fall under those statutes. Not much, but some States Attys like to take on someone like Paypal (makes them look good come election time). AFARR |

They have no right to shut ANYBODY down that is running a respectable and legal business.
I infact have used them to pay you and other vendors here in the recent past. This really pisses me off. |

After reading this thread, me and my wife have closed our PP accounts. In the comments block as to our reasons why I wrote this.
I have decided to end my account and dealings with your company due to your extremely rabid hatred of firearms and anything that you associate with them. In the free market system we enjoy in the USA your company is fully allowed to set whatever limitations on your service that you would like, however, I as a consumer have the same right to choose to use your competitors instead. You have chosen a political agenda over your business interests and in doing so have lost the business of a good many people and companies. Lastly, you have frozen several accounts to persons in the firearms industry or merely selling parts and are holding their assets for indefinite amounts of time. This goes beyond the realm of good business practices and smacks of harassment. In short, have a nice run as long as you can and I hope that you enjoy paying out the nose for the settlements of the class action lawsuits you are drawing down on your head. To hell with PayPal. |
Seen this happen before. Paypal has a REALLY bad habbit of nabbing up accounts for "suspicous activity" when they reach high dollar amounts. I remember a few years back (before paypal's anti gun stance), a guy who ran an online computer hardware business got ripped for something like $1,300 by paypal. He was a member on a small tech board called forumoc and made a big post about it. No clue what happened in the end, but I'm guessing the dude laywered up and got his money back.
edit to correct $ amount |
I'm waiting for an EFT to dump from PP to my bank, then I'm ending it with them. It's really too bad, since they're so goddamn convenient, but people judge me by the company I keep.

For you online guys be very careful who you use for direct charge cards ask them straight out if the have a problem with guns , gun accsories and selling said items over the internet
My shop ran into problems with that and im sure you all seen SA's colt rifle sale thread www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=397731 |
Its gonna get worse guys. Payal (Ebay) Just bought Verisign. I posted this a week ago,but no one listened to me about it. This means you will soon be kissing your credit card business goodbye.
I think I will go now and resurrect my post. |
Ha Ha Ha! You cant tag. You are not a team member. |
Yeah, for real, why do they give a fuck what you sell anyway ? As long as you're complying with all federal laws, they can STFU. |
Google has plans to start a payment service to compete with PayPal. Those guys are complete liberal fucktards, so don't be surprised if they have the same policy in regard to firearms and parts.

Gonna have to email google about the auction and payment systems in hopes they won't be anti-gun nutjobs..
but they probably will be |

+1! Anyone who supports the 2nd, should boycott those hostile to it, at every opportunity. Selling out our rights for the sake of convenience, give me a break. Its disrespectful to those who died to protect our rights. I refuse to use paypal. Even if someone was selling AR's for $5, if the payment was through PP, Id pass. |
Hell, I'd offer them a $10 Postal MO, FedEx overnight |
ARF uses paypal for memberships I thought everyone knew they were hard core anti gun?
Why didnt I think of that. Oh well, theres always the .22 . Until the next fishing mishap. |

i keep a zero balance in my paypal account secured by a credit card i no longer have that has been cancelled for about 3 years now. once in a great while i will be forced to use it and have to transfer money into it. when a transaction comes in it is clean out that day.
sadly with some vendors it is the only form of electronic commerce they have. MO's are a complete pain in the ass not to mention adding to the cost. |
this is PRECISELY why i have not, and will not ever use PP. with the actions of both PP and e-bay being so blatantly anti-gun i can't believe anyone on this site actually uses either... |
Paypal sucks, why does anyone one use them??????????? I don't use any services run by anti-gunners regards of how convient they are. When will you learn people????
I'd been on the borderline for a while, but I just canceled my account.

Just closed my account. Really haven't used it in a while and had been considering closing it for some time anyway. To hell with em.

No one takes personal checks anymore. The fucktards all want MO's that cost me about $1 to buy and then another $0.37 to mail out. then it can get "lost".
CCs are fine if their store takes it. eBay has some good non-firearms stuff that I buy from time to time and no one generally takes checks. They want MOs or PayPal. Gunbroker makes it painful because if I want a $1000 rifle I'll have to schlep $1000 in cash to the post office to buy a MO. Then the vendor says "oh I never got your MO, it must have been lost..." I hate Paypal's business practices but I haven't found a suitable replacement short of direct CC transactions or e-checks. If everyone waited for the personal checks to clear (usually 5 business days at most) I wouldn't have a problem, and in fact that is what I usually did when i sold stuff. |
Maybe you should have read the fine print, bitch. They're a private company, they can do whatever they want. I'm glad they cancelled your account too, so now you won't make as much money, you communist.
Now that my PayPal activity has died down, I just removed my primary banking account from it and will re-verify with an empty account solely for PayPal. Sadly, its a large portion of my business.
Listen up... anyone... I mean... ANYONE with a CC merchant account could start their own Paypal. This is why your paypal account is not FDIC insured. They can clean your account out and claim 'policy'. They can do as they please outside the boundaries of federal banking regs.
Why? They are nothing more than a software website with a CC merchant account attached to it. When you "deposit" money in your Paypal account, they run your transaction like any other transaction, withdrawing money from your checking account, or dinging your CC #. Then, they "credit" your account, which is nothing more than a value in their database field. If anyone wants to come off of a couple million $$ for some programming efforts, I'd be happy to lead a team in developing a pro-gun competitor to Paypal. You don't even need a banking license to do it. Better yet, come up with a few more million $$ and we can just get a federal banking license. |

While PayPal was passive in their anti-gun opinions, I didn't mind using them occasionally. Same way I deal with whackos on the street...you can be a crackpot, just don't be a dangerous crackpot or I'll disable you. You may or may not agree, and I respect your opinion. With PayPal now actively cancelling established accounts and impounding balances, they've gone from benign to malignant, so it's time to take action. Account is being closed and word is being spread. Has anyone notified the NRA yet?? |
What? You don't like private companies exerciesing their contractual rights? Commie? |
Paypal and AOL??? Not sure why you would give money to either company. |
google is just as bad they will not take ads or sponsored searchs for firarms or ammo |
That totally sucks. I hate paypal. I have an account, but I rarely use it. This post was enough for me to go ahead and cancel it.
Call me intolerant. If an individual or entity maintains differing beliefs or standards than myself, fug em! That's just me though. |

Waste of time, NRA won't do anything for you or anybody else, because they are mostly a govt lobby org, and not anything else. Denny: I'm sorry to hear that problems with them, it has been pretty well-known at ARFCOM that they are a PITA, and only to be tolerated. |
No problemo here. I was planning on dropping the pricks anyway. They just got me off my ass to do it. 10-4 on the NRA, Denny |
