I served proudly in the U.S. ARMY 1985-1989 .I was 17 when I enlisted.I served 2 years in Germany with 4/9th Field Artillary( Pershing II Missile). They were Nukes. Pulled on portable launchers. We could hit Russia with them.Very  accurate. We all the time had Russian spys following us. They was legal spy's. You had to be there to understand. If any of you remember the accident in 1985 with a missile going off and killing three crewmen, that was my Battery( Company ).I got there a couple of months after it happened.I PCSed back to the states and went to Ft. Lewis and went to an Infatry unit. 4/23 Infatry. We was a light attack unit. We desert trained alot. We had nothing but HumVee's and one 5 ton truck. Our HumVee's was set up with alot of TOW's and our scout platoon had Tow set up and Ma Duce set up with the turrent . We had a 4 Duce platoon also.A trip down memory lane. Those was some very good times in my life. I just didn't know it yet. War Dawg

Has anyone asked why you are wasting your time on this 'woman'? You'd be better off at the range.  Either set her straight - no compromise - or move on.  Life is too short.

A similar thing is happpening to a good friend of mine.  The USMC will not take him due to his lack-of-height.  He is still trying to get in and it really disappoints me - he would be a great Marine and a great Officer.

IIRC, the USMC said the same thing to Audie Murphy. Tell him to roll up his sleeves, join the Army, and not to be so obsessed with a carefully cultivated "image."

US Army as an M60A3 Armor crewman (19E) from 88-90, Active reserves from 90-96, Desert storm vet. Now a member of what might possibly be the most dangerous and violent of all goverment organizations. The US Postal Service. You think your airborne and special forces are bad, well they only kill foreigners, we are so vicious we only kill our own!
Just kidding there. I know and have worked with everything from navy cooks to special ops folk, I have respect for them all.
My job with the USPS is an automotive technician (lvl 7) and have been one for 13 years. far too long. I am not a waco type but I am adjusting my tinfoil hat as I type.
What about hobbies? I am sure there are some fascinating ones out there. I sail, even took my 26' sailboat from Florida to the Bahamas, over 700 mile round trip.

Marines wouldn't take me...failed the physical. However, I come from a family packed full of Veterans and I respect the HELL out of everyone that has served this nation.

Thank you for everything you have done.
