A Texas concealed carry permit is good in Louisiana. And an LA permit is super, super easy to get.

I think she was just an attention whore. I lived in rural LA for 4 years and never saw anyone open carrying.

Your reading comprehension sucks.  I didn't say lying in general is a crime, I said lying to an investigator or LEO is.  You lie to them, about anything, and it's a crime, in most of the U.S.  Period.  The fact that they choose not to charge you is irrelevant.

No.

I have interviewed people in IN and OUT of custody settings.  In any of those scenarios, lying to me about the day of the week, the color of the sky, etc. is not a violation.  It has to be pertinent to the crime being investigated.  

And of course I am referring to state statutes here in my state.  It is the same for most states whose statutes I am aware of.  I can't speak for the Feds.
