I was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer 7/11/2012. I had the left nut removed on the 17th of July and did 1 month of radiation treatments after that, I decided to skip CHEMO for the time being. I have the next series of tests this week to see if the radiation worked or not. I was part of the 11% that don't develop a mass. Get your self checked as soon as you can. It is very treatable if found early enough.

If you have any question just ask.

Good luck

You better be at the doctors office right now, the sooner the better. I just wish people would heed the advice of that as soon as you notice something is wrong or you dont feel right to get checked out ASAP!

I knew a guy from work about 20 years ago that died from testicular cancer. He was around 30 I think.

Def get it checked Monday.

Heck I would call now and talk to the answering service and have the doc call and then set up an appt then.

And even if it does turn out to be cancerous, your odds of a cure are excellent.  If you had to reach into the grab-bag-o-cancers and pull one out, Testicular CA would be one of the ones you'd rather have.

Yep, went through it 20 years ago.

Orchiectomy, RPLND, and 9 weeks of chemo.

Probably just a ganglion cyst. If you cover it with a book and then smack it with a hammer, sometimes it'll just break up and disappear.

is this on your sack or do u feel it on the testical itself? big difference.

On the sack its an ingrown hair, zit etc on the testical itself, get the MD ASAP, could be nothing (had a lump on one of my balls when i was in college, turned out to be a blood vessel that sort of herniaed out of the surface), but get checked.

A lump the size of a quarter ON your testical would make your ball like three times its normal size.

+1

I've had a benign cyst like that.

Freaked me out when I first felt it, because one of the several cancers my dad has had was testicular - but it was completely benign, and mine actually just went away again on its own.

I too have a benign cyst on my right testicle.

The ultrasound was downright fun.

Weird thread is weird.

I am going in for an ultrasound tomorrow for what is probably epididymitis. (Didn't know about the back/abdominal pain thing, that I have along with it.)

I hope that's what it is.  The doc I saw already said antibiotics would probably clear it up if that's what it is, but wasn't convinced that's what it was.  I initially went in because I was getting discomfort after eating and swelling on the left side. (The testicles themselves seem fine, and my sex life isn't affected.)  So I thought it was a hernia.  While knowing hernia surgery wasn't happening was nice, having something wrong with the old boys down there and not knowing what it is is NOT nice.

Get it checked out ASAFP, but don't panic yet.  Trapped pockets of seminal fluid can form, called spermatoceles.  If they get squished or aggravated, they can become painful and lead to blood in your semen (really spooked my wife...  ).

They're generally harmless, and they only treat them if they're really big.

That said, they usually aren't directly ON the testicle; they form in the plumbing at one end.  If it's right on the nut, bust a gut and get to the doc.

BTDT.  I was shit scared, got it checked out.  They told me no worries unless it gets bigger or starts to hurt.
Two years later it got way bigger.  Had it removed last January and all is well.
My insurance got hit for $9800 bucks though.

A funny story :

Earlier this year I had to get my physical to keep up my medical clearance

Doc had me drop 'em for the old hernia check, while he was doing his work  he said "If you don't mind I can check on your testicles to look for lumps"

I responded "Thanks! I appreciate the extra effort"

He had the oddest look on his face.

Fuck it, I'd rather have a pro check it out and it was awesome I was getting it done for free.

In all honesty, hopefully more men do give their balls a once-over. Testicular cancer isn't terribly common, but it's common enough that guys should take the 5 seconds to check their balls for any lumps or bumps. The testicle should feel completely smooth, and any bumps should be checked by a urologist.

Testicular cancer is very treatable if caught early enough.
