We have an elite clan set up that carried over from MW3, this is the continuation of that. Good gravy..... We are talking about a video game.
The other thread seemed to consist mostly of "old timers" with full friends lists. There isn't much reason for me to post anything else there. This thread is for the clan with the guys I play with most of the time. I am hoping the clan continues with the ops in BO2. I am down to play with just about anyone as long as they can tolerate my sarcastic cracks that may, or may not be, funny........... At all.....

The ops are a relatively new thing to MW3 and that is what this thread is about.

As far as I'm concerned, this thread is a continuation of the elite clan from MW3.
I dunno where you "old timers" were back then, we might have gotten the thing to level 50 before the wheels fell off with more Arfcommers playing. I'm always welcome to play with more Arfcom folks. That some of y'all try to justify your l33t-ness by trolling this thread is a little disappointing, but whatever I guess. |

You could use the first 55 levels to learn the guns, the maps, and then prestige and clear your stats. Start over from prestige level 1 and you can work on your K/D. |

Works for me. Like Quintin said last night the whole tempo of the game seems to be a little bit different than past games. So far I think I like SMGs a bit more than assault rifles. Haven't messed with shotguns enough yet to really feel them out.

Okay, so I've been playing this piece of shit for almost two weeks now. Some more observations:
It's not as bad as it was for me originally. The pick-10 system is still a little stupid, mostly because I can't run everything I want. I've pretty much settled into a few things I feel like I have to have on a class, then it's just trying different guns out. Conversely with MW3, I built classes that were different for a particular situation as far as perks and equipment went (objective type games, UAV spam, shooting down air support, etc) and stuck with maybe two or three different weapons for each class. With the pick-10 system, I feel that you really can't tailor a class to a specific situation, so you might as well find some perks you like, experiment with the guns because they all feel about the same, and go with that. The connections are *terrible*. I'm thinking the developers must have tested this game in perfect conditions on a LAN or some god-like connection in the office, because there's still some real problems with the connections. Most times, whoever pulls host has a huge advantage, moreso than in any other previous Call of Duty game IMO - the host advantage is hilarious in this one. Then sometimes you'll hit lobbies where even the host is on a 3-bar, and everyone is lag skipping around and hit detection is really bad. I know my internet is shit, but I never had any problems finding games in COD4, MW2, Blops 1 or MW3. I've been sitting here thinking about my opinions on this game and typing this for the past 20 minutes or so, searching for a TDM game. There are 78K+ people playing TDM right now, and I can't find a damn game. The overall pacing of this game feels a lot different than the older CODs. It feels like it plays a little slower and more methodically, until you run into that team of full-retard-try-hards that probably played a ton of Summit Domination in Blops 1 with a full party. Um, otherwise, I dunno. Maybe things will brighten up with a batch of Christmas noobs to stomp next month. |

It seems like the game has more potential to be campy with lots of corners and stuff like that. I really have to be careful about being so rushy, that seems to get me killed a lot. There also appears to be a lot of line of sights that are long that snipers can really take advantage of. Of course the smokey looking tracer tail really gives their positions away.
I do feel like the game is slower paced. Someone someplace posted the maps seem small and frantic. I think a lot of them feel pretty large.

I was on the receiving end of a Swarm just a little while ago.
What in the hell was Treyarch thinking with some of these kill streaks? Good Lord, if someone on the other team calls in a Swarm, I hope you have a class with Blind Eye on it. Because it's automatic, instant death every time you spawn in. Call that thing in on a ground war game and I totally believe it would get an easy 20-30 kills. |

They are aware of the connection issues and the fact that the sounds are basically broken. There isn't anyone who disagrees with it. The question is how long it takes to fix the issues.
They released a round of patches. The big ones in this round are adjusting the spawns and glitches in the game. They fixed the glitch with the dragon fire, escort drone, and the AGR exploit. The also patched the map exploit on aftermath. I think they will do something with the connections and sounds in the game. However, from what I have heard, they are more involved and they need to collect more data first. I will believe it when I see it. |

i redboxed it for the last week and its meh... there is absoslutly nothing memorable about this game. the scorestreaks...meh, the weapons...meh, the maps...meh, new zombies...meh
still a cooridoor, hallway, tunnel shooter in which the one with the quickest reflexs gets the kill. with same fucked up spawn system in which you can not spawn with your team in a team based game. there is still no flow to the game, its not as bad as past titles, but honestlly i am all COD'd out. the series is stale to me. |

I (still) really don't care for this game, but they did do a lot of things right and made some improvements from previous games.
Like the pointstreak system, I think it's really good and gives people an incentive to get out of the damn corner and run around a little. The shotguns actually feel like shotguns. Grinding shotguns up to the damage proficiency in MW3 was one of the worst experiences of my time playing video games. Along the same token, when you prestige, everything you unlocked for a weapon you keep, which is really good. It feels like the game really encourages you to prestige, whereas in MW3 the only reason I prestiged was to get more custom classes. I'd bitch a lot less if they would have let us set different pointstreaks for different classes, they should have carried that over from MW3 IMO. |
