I disagree. As long as the majority of voters support government programs like social security, public education, all of the various welfare handouts, etc, we will always have socialists running the government. A cultural revolution is required, shifting public sentiment from the current system of confiscation/redistribution (state-sponsored altruism) to one of the government ONLY protecting individual rights. Until that happens socialists are here to stay.

I wasn't talking about taking it via the voting booth and I have said ad nauseum here that I have zero faith that our country can be fixed via the political process.

As long as there are people who profit from selling and buying votes the Republic is doomed and thinking that those benefiting from selling their vote, or those gaining power by buying same(with our money, no less), will ever give up their side of this host-parasite relationship, is a pipe dream.

I agree with what you are saying but it ain't going to happen and only one thing will separate socialists from their grasp on power. They have done a fine job entangling themselves within the political system and incrementally destroying the dream of freedom that was America.

And their stance on the UCMJ, their stance on military enlistments, their stance on 9/11/2001.

In my case, I have voted for one Dem in almost 30 years of voting and I have voted in every election. I will likely pass on them in the future as I am finally convinced it makes no difference. People used to say that and I would always point out Reagan. No difference any more it seems. Socialism and invasion or socialism and invasion-Lite. I really see little difference anymore.
