Shoot left handed. Not like cops must be a A class uspsa shooter anyways.

Gotta use both hands for qual.

It's already his non dominant hand. He would be just fine. Any "uneasiness in shooting" is going to be negated by the fact that he's not ambidextrous anyway.

I meant shooting with each hand seperate from each other.

Yes, I know.

He's going to shoot like shit with his -- likely -- left hand anyway.

This one didn't get to go home safely to his family that night.

Well, he did, but not all in once piece.

Wait, no, he's just a piece of shit.

Dedication is not how I would describe that......

And yes - I have spent plenty of time in the private sector.

Who said he isn't working?  Collecting the pension may not prevent him from working for some other employer.

There's a bit of finger pointing in the linked article - be interesting to hear who really filed the disability pension claim.

In an interview with NBC 4, Onesti admitted that the pension is "ridiculous" but said he asked for a desk job instead of a pension and that his department refused.

I can't even count the times I've been stapled by 1/2" T-50 staples on the range.

I usually get stapled by students not paying attention.

The article I read said he isn't able to get a job with any police department due to his 'disability'. Why the hell can't he get a job doing something other than police work? Or is that his calling? Boggles the mind how people can get away with this shit.

Read the article.

'Disabled' guy claims he didn't agree with the doctor's assertions about never being able to fire a gun, and also offered to work a desk job.  City told him no.  Can't say I blame him.

City: You stapled your finger, you can't shoot, here have this lifetime disability

Guy: I think in a year or two I'll be fine to shoot, I don't need it.  Just put my on a desk job until then.

City: Doctor's report says otherwise.  Here have your lifetime disability

Guy: Well then, I'll take a desk job at the department.  We have plenty of options.

City: No, you can't have a desk job.  Here, have your lifetime disability.

Guy: Okay, fine.

If the guy really did offer to do a desk job instead, and the city stuck with it's offer of disability, then it is the fault of the CITY (or possibly the doctors).

He should be forced to payback the money and return to work.

Or....

Arrested for fraud and forced to give up his pension.

If you read the article, it sounds like he was forced out.

We had a case on the FDNY years back. Guy was retired on 3/4s, and it was discovered that he was a member of his local volunteer department. Newspaper did a big "gotcha" story about it.

Turned out, there's was no "gotcha" - the guy had wanted to stay on the job, but he had been forced to retire. It happens.

I worked with a guy years ago that cracked a vertebrae in his neck at work when he only had a year or two on the job.

He was almost forced to retire; had to fight to keep his job.

I used to work factory construction.  Hell a nail to a finger and you tried to keep a blood drop from hitting the floor (drop of blood meant it had to be reported - I got a silver of fiberglass in my finger and they freaked - one fucking drop of blood).  That said, you pulled out the nail with a pliers or hammer - and kept working (as long as you could hide the bleeding).  Just always keep your tetanus shot current.

----

honestly it really sounds like the city wanted an excuse to get him gone.

Define the fraud - as in what part of the disability pension " contract" is he violating.

Here are just 4 scams I know of in NYC

My mom had a neighbor who went out on 3/4's from the NYPD after only being on few years, car accident. Obviously it was not a lot of money but
he went on to work for a A/C Refrigeration company where he had to climb ladders and into small spaces and lift heavy crap.
Just another in the long line of scams

A neighbor of mine had both sons go out on 3/4's from the FDNY. The one son now deceased went out on a knee injury. He continued operating his side construction business, but now full time. He actually participated in a charity ski event for the FDNY at Hunter Mountain in NY and had his picture taken while skiing in his fire coat. Must have been some knee injury

The other son also went out on 3/4's based on a neck injury which was caused by a non FDNY accident. Simple he went to work took a practiced tumble during a fire and 3/4's. He too went on to continue with his side construction business and hunts all over the US.

The real kicker was the father of these two. The son above fell out of a tree stand they were building and landed on Dad's head compressing his neck. Well Dad reports to work and they head out onto a call which takes the father into the isolated basement of a building. Dad smashes his helemt against the concrete wall to crack it and then fakes a trip and fall into a wall and lays down. Of course he claims he can no longer work and needs 3/4's. FDNY says BS no 3/4 for you. So he sues the LandLord of the building he fell in claiming that there was an illegal pipe sticking out of the floor which caused him to fall and suffer this injury. He wins a 100k from the LL's insuracne company. He to continued on working construction on the side until he retired.

One family from the FDNY ran three scams and two came out with 3/4's and one got paid by a LL.
Now think how often this crap happens all across the country
