In the Deadly Weapons video the car was a late 70s model full size sedan.  The handgun rounds did very little damage when shot into a car door, only a 9mm++P round was able to penetrate the door with any sizeable fragments.  They also shoot 223, 308 and shotgun rounds,( both buckshot and slug) through the car doors, and only the slugs went through the car completely.  All the other rounds fragmented and would not have caused any serious damage.  The best car test was at the end of the video when the host shoots the Ma Duece 50 Cal machinegun at the car.  Whoa! serious destruction  What damage could be done to a plastic car like a Saturn?  This video is dated though, no 40S&W rounds which are very popular today.

Love the show, but another 'myth' left some science out of the testing.

Where they did the 'Will the ship suck you down with it' test, they worked with the suction aspect but missed another fundamental part of physics.

Ships keep their bouyancy by displacing their weight in water, thus keeping afloat.  If a large amount of air bubbles (i.e. some sort of geological gaseous discharge) erupts directly under a ship it will sink due to the lack of displaced water (which was temporarily displaced by the gasses).

The same would be true for a person.  If a sinking ship is releasing enough air beneath a person, they will lose bouyancy and be 'sucked down' with the ship.  You cant swim in air.

Just a minor point.

I can't believe you guys haven't seen the "Deadly Weapons" video.  I thought it was required viewing.  It debunks all of the Hollywood myths all set to a cheesy '70s porn soundtrack.
