I hate o-care as much as the next guy, but if you cant be responsible for your own health, this is the price limited liability costs.  If you have contracted with the govt to provide for your old age, you can hardly fault it for demanding its interests to be well cared for and healthy.

So who should have blamed when health insurance greatly increased in the mid 2000's?

Bush?

government. the people who already have control over well over half of the healthcare market via medicare, medicaid, tricare, etc. and who heavily distort the small "free" bit remaining with countless idiotic regulations including the ones that created the employer based insurance system we live with.

Wow, I lucked out then.  Now I didn't take some of the options with my health care plan
but I have medical, dental, and LTD.  No dependents either.  This must explain why mine
only went up $97.

Thank God!

PS - No matter...fuck you Obama!

Mine damn near tripled at the beginning of the month.  Went from $30 a month to $80.

Thank god I work for a damn good company that pays 95% of our insurance premiums.

So, what do you think the impact will be for your company? Will they decide to drop coverage? Go out of buisness? Lower wages?

I posted a story here the other day from Yahoo/Associated Press where some big companies are, behind the scenes, seriously thinking of paying the $2,000 annual penalty and making employees fend for themselves.

Thats always been part of the plan. They are forcing a public option.

I've been forced into dropping what little insurance I have come this December. I can't afford the 30+ percent increase forced on me by Obamacare.

Thanks all of you that voted for all othis fun.

Our government continues to push us towards a cash and barter society......patients cannot afford the high cost of health care.....health care providers cannot afford to work for insurance companies or governments that only pay a small portion of their billed charges.........eventually, the two parties will get together and find a way to bypass the middle (tax) man.......

I guess I dodge the bullet with only a 10% increase.  Plus the tax increase on the 1st of the year my check is going to be much smaller next year.  FBO

Yep, the plan at my wife's work went from $275 to $450 a month. That's a pretty big increase, especially since ARFCOM taught me that public school teachers are over paid and get free healthcare. Can anyone tell me where my wife should be teaching at?

Between insurance premium increases and the impending Obama tax increases (nee Bush tax cut expiration), average Americans are seeing a substantial reduction in their paychecks and purchasing power.

Just the thing we need to help the economy.
