Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: I work for the feds and have been reminding myself that I have Monday off all week. I still think I'll wake up and go to work. Who celebrates MLK day? How racist do you have to be to refuse a day off? It could be "National Kill Whitey Day" and I'd gladly sleep in and barbeque. Thanks for the new Sig line! Now that you've mentioned it, it's a pretty good one. |

Just checked my work email, and I have an email from my completely insane, anxiety ridden workaholic boss that details next weeks plans, starting on Monday (we have off). Should I tell her, or let her figure it out on her own when Monday rolls around.? View Quote it's not a real holiday. like your wiser boss, you should also ignore it, and be productive. |

Let her show up to a locked building and wonder if the business closed and everyone lost their jobs over the weekend.
Better yet Sunday night put a sign on the door that says "out of business, closed until further notice".

Hell, I competed to work it. Special duty pay $38 an hour, plus an hour of comp time per hour I work. So I'm gonna take my extra pay and my day off, and I'll be in Savannah catching redfish and specks
Gotta love those bullshit, made up "holidays" |

Do some of you people really work in environments where you can't remind someone that you're closed on a certain day?

Woot! I forget I get 12 free hours of time off every day this year.
Regardless if I work or not.....Yay! ETA; I had no idea what holiday you were talking about. |

State Holiday here. So I am off. I preferred when we had presidents day off in February. Broke it up a little more between now and Memorial day a little better. MLK day is too close to the Christmas holidays.

That's because Monday isn't a real holiday to most of corporate America.

I work at a hospital, what are these "holidays" you speak of? View Quote That's easy! You know how all of a sudden certain weekends and Mondays the ER is especially full of people with sprains strains and wounds and smell strongly of alcohol? THOSE are holidays and holiday weekends. |

What does the company running smoothly and staying in business have to do with your paycheck anyway. These bosses of so foolish. You will have the last laugh collecting that big fat pay check long after the company has closed down. |
