We did learn a hell of a lot about beam shaping and steering, adaptive optics, etc. and those lessons are no doubt being applied to other programs like THEL. ABL was an amazing testbed and proof of concept. It works well. It's just not very sneaky if you're going to have a missile launch and there's a 747 in an orbit for days nearby your launchpad. That being said I can't wait for the miniaturization of that technology so it can be put on smaller weapons platforms.
