Quoted: Quoted: From what I've read, "Evan" is considered to be one of the two best episodes of the entire series. I'm guessing they were never able to reach a deal with regard to the licensing and distribution for it. It's a shame, because it's damn good television. What's the other one? My personal favorite episode is Glades, mainly because of "Maybe you won't even twitch...." There are a lot of episodes tied for second place, though. |

I remember being thrilled as all hell to watch the Miami Vice live action show at Universal Studios when I was younger.
Too bad Hollyweird fucked up the movie. That was such a disgrace. |

Oh yeah I loved that show. Where is a good source to get all the seasons on DVD? Woot.com had a deal last year for all of the seasons in a dvd collectors pack for $19.99. I thought it was a spoof when I ordered it. I even posted about it here when the ad came out. I was quite suprised when 2 weeks later, it showed up as advertised. That was a great deal. |

Fantastic Show. Now you guys have me wanting to get the DVD's.
|
|
I watched the first few seasons religiously as a young teen. Then I got my driver's licence and discovered "other" things to do on Friday nights.
I have the first three seasons on DVD and have gotten up to the point that I stopped watching as a kid. I now need to buy the last two seasons! |
|
It was a very special show when it came out, just like Magnum PI.
I really feel I have yet to see their true equal, and doubt I ever will. |

Actually, for me and my buds, watching Miami Vice was a great way to start out the night. I remember being impressed that it was so popular despite the 10pmEST Friday night timeslot. |

Then again, with a remake of Hawaii Five-O out, I wouldn't be surprised if they went for it eventually. |

My favorite episode is "Out Where the Busses Dont Run." Bruce McGill does a great job as Hank. Dire Straits' Brothers in Arms at the last is great music. A real piece of art. One of the best hours ever on TV.
|
|
Dont flame me guys, I used to think that show was stupid when I was a children, now, I look back and wonder WTF I was thinking, that show is good stuff!
|
|
"Out Where The Buses Don't Run" is IMHO the best episode of all. The final scene when Crockett and Tubbs are cruising the MacArthur Causeway to the fugue of sounds from the Daytona's engine, the impending weather that is about to arrive and orchestrated to Dire Straits -"Brothers In Arms". Watching that, you can actually feel the heat and humidity.

The movie wasn't terrible but it wasn't as near great as the tv show. I heard there was to be a big Heat style shootout at the end but Jamie Foxx didn't approve due to Michael Mann working with a local gang to run set security and there was a gang related shooting on set. |

Miami Vice was a family event for us. My parents loved that show and would always make popcorn or chips and salsa before it came on. It brings back some good memories.

I just watched "Smuggler's Blues" this week. . .to see Glenn Frey's character.
So many good quotes in that episode. . . "I always like to take a good-bye look at America, just in case it's my last." "I ain't John Wayne and I don't have an "S" on my chest, so be brief about your business when you get there." "I take you where you wanna go, wait so long, then I'm a memory." Another favorite is Trust Fund Pirates. . .the "junk" tirade by "Capt'n Hook" is awesome. And the episode with Willie Nelson as a washed up Texas Ranger. It was hit and miss with Miami Vice. As a lot of y'all, I didn't get to watch 'em on TeeVee when they aired. . .I found 'em later in life. Some episodes are simply epic, others are *horrible*, like the episode with James Brown, I think. Ugh. Evan is a good one. . .adds tremendous depth to the show. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Loved me some Vice back in the day. I especially liked the episodes with G.Gordon Liddy and Phil Collins, they were usually exceptionally good ones.
This thread makes me want to dig out my old Miami Vice soundtrack LP and fire up the turntable. And I might take the 645 out for a trip to the range just to bring back some memories of those days gone by. |

I loved that show when I was in High School.
Made Miami seem like a cool place. Then I had to actually live there. |
