So, in the case of that NBC-WSJ poll, only 2,005 adults were surveyed by the polling organizations of Peter D. Hart and Robert M. Teeter. The poll was conducted by telephone and had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.2 percentage points at the 95 percent confidence level. The confidence level means that if the same poll were conducted 100 times, each one randomly selecting the people polled, only five of the polls would be expected to yield results outside the margin of error.

We're inside the MOE.  Even if we don't top 50% we've disarmed it.

I'm with you.  I hate working for companies that don't want me armed at work or on their property but as a private company they should be allowed to make that decision for themselves.

you're an idiot.  what they can do is see this huge forum where ppl are 'conspiring' to thwart the poll and make it inaccurate.  they can do that by following the hotlink back to the site it originated, aka YOUR POST.

in order to help prevent them from throwing up additional polls 'because of error' and the chance of us missing it and losing the poll, you should REMOVE your hotlink. please.

you may say it cant hurt, but it DEFINITELY cant help

If you guys think someone is going to click on this thread, and read three pages into it before finally finding my hotlink and going to the poll that way, you're nuts.

If someone is so lazy that they won't copy/paste the first post's URL, but gets to mine on page 3 and finally decides that's easy enough to do, then so be it.

Too many tin foil hatters here. How many votes do you think this thread's going to generate?

The poll was designed to survey 2000 people. Over 15,000 have hit it so far.

I just said not to hotlink because a California Congresswoman had a poll going on her website about gun control and it was hotlinked. The poll was shutdown because of it (I can't remember their reason, something like bloggers this and that)

That's the only reason I put that in my first post.

Thanks for the votes, BTW.

so why hotlink it?  why be an ass?

ok,

if you knew anything about web code you would know that they record the route through which people visit the site.  and 100s of ppl coming the same way is suspicious, and they can follow it in REVERSE to the post.

do you really think the reason we dont hotlink to DU is b/c they're looking for hotlinks in our posts directly by looking at them all?  obviously not, b/c if the link wasnt 'hot' they'd still get pissed and know what was up.  the REASON is they can go .   well, for simplicity, backwards through the web and end up here.
