I would try them all.

Put that stuff on a nice plate on a tablecloth and it would make a world of difference to the visual appeal.

Officer Excrement.

Burgers+Beans or Sausage+Beans NOM NOM NOM eat that shit cold or hot with my spoon

Lancashire fecking Hot pot

Chocolate cake or Treacle pudding (I swear this one is sweeter than honey soaked sugar-crack-meth flakes)

Biscuit Fruits and Biscuit Browns to either shit, or not shit.

Fucking BOILED SWEETS LADDY!

Super-Blando white and red/blue wrapper chocolate that somehow tastes as good as Lindt after a few days of ponging and monging in the rain.

Ukrainian one looks the worst by far.  Also note that it's called the "Officer's Military Ration".  I'm really not interested in what the enlisted guys are eating.

In "Bravo Two Zero", Andy McNabb said they would get US MRE's....just for the spoon.  Brit MREs are reputed to be real good.

Of the foreign rations I've had, the German EMP's are the most like real food. Canadian main entrees are similar to ours in quantity and quality-they are packed in the same plants. I'd love to have a French ration, they look like real food, but the menu choices are kinda limiting-I hate fish.

Hmm, is there a source for foreign MREs?   The french one looked quite good, and the one with the herring in oil.....

Not really.. Customs usually cuts them open or denies them when you buy overseas. Ebay is a good bet but you are going to pay for the privilege.

Did anyone else notice that France was the only country to have a dry white napkin
That could be unfolded to a nice large size

I have eaten several MRE's
Hunting and fishing
Not in MIL
Get them nice and warm and they are not to bad
OK if your hungry

They are.  A friend of mine from Ukraine brought one back from vacation once, it was disgusting.  The meat was packed (read submerged in) in an extremely thick, white lard and the herrings were the same way with the oil.    This picture of it makes it look 100x better than reality.

Where'd you get that from? Link please?

The one labeled 'US Forces in Iraq' doesn't look like any MRE and/or packaging I have seen. I am not .mil though so there is a very good chance that I am talking out of mah ass.

Yeah...It looks like a "Jimmy Dean" meal the Air Force gives stranded passengers.... Shelf stable components, and a fresh sandwich and fruit. Not a bad meal at all, but a limited and repetitive choice.

When I was on my last tour, I got a 4 day pass to Qatar. At the AFB there, they had a GREAT deal, a least for this Dogface...next to the passenger terminal there was a little shack, you signed in, gota bag and had catagory selections- a fresh sandwich on a hoagie roll (chicken/beef/ham), choice of chips, 1 of 3 different candy bars, a rice crispy treat or pop tart, choice of whole fruit, 2 cans of soda, a water.

I had some French rations back during Desert Storm. They were not bad or maybe I was so tired of eating T Rats and MRE's anything tasted better.

These are what I want to try,

Packages are dehydrated and at least the old cold weather rations were Mountain House type offerings.

Pretty sure the Canadian MREs are similar.   Wouldn't mind getting to try to the Canadian ones as well.   The Canadian and British ones go for a mint on Ebay.

I had one of those 'box lunches' while over there. It was horrible. I would take an omelet MRE over that any day.

According to MRE Info.com they also issue little airplane bottles of liquor

True! At least the ones I ate in Somalia had little bottles of cogna . The little packets of crackers were killer too!
