Bingo. Feelz not facts...
Correct.
The problem with liberal beliefs are that they are just that, beliefs. They are not rooted in reality, they come from their belief system.
When confronted with reality, it is as if the very ground they are standing on is melting away. The thought of the ground falling away from you will flat rattle some folks. They are left with either running away or lashing out as a defense mechanism.
The Obama Affordable Care act is an excellent example. Liberals want everyone to have healthcare. They don't have the capacity to intellectually understand that government mandates has the net effect of reducing availability and driving up costs. Rational people understand that. Rational people said that. But, the liberal belief system doesn't care about all that. Sweet baby children see Doctor good.
Another one I noticed from the last debate. Donald Trump described abortion as ripping a fetus from the womb. Hillary Clinton responded with the idea that that is just a scare tactic and should be dismissed. Well, in some ways she is right. What Donald Trump said is reality. That is what actually happens. But, the liberal belief system does not account for reality, and to deviate from the accepted terminology is very scary to a liberal. Women's healthcare sounds wonderful and positive. The reality of killing a child is horrifying and disgusting, and their delicate ears need a safe space to be protected from such real, physical world realities.
You frequently see liberal ideology redefining words or inventing new phrases. There comes a point where even the most core principles of liberal ideology simply fail to the point where they cannot be ignored. There beliefs are so central to their identity that they have to invent new realities to explain it.
A rational, intelligent person may say "Huh. I didn't understand that the government imposing massive new regulations would have an adverse effect on healthcare. Maybe allowing free market competition to be in place improves availability for everyone." A democrat, on the other hand, might say "Obamacare isn't being allowed to work because of republicans. We need to take the next step to a completely government controlled healthcare system."
Hillary did say that a complete ban on the ownership of firearms is supporting the second amendment.
