I did that on my second AR and when I had to remove the WOA barrel, I swore I'd never do it again. So that's probably what he means by bedding. No, he turned down the extension, then added some type of metallic bedding compound. There is nothing difficult about removing a bedded barrel with Blue Loc-tite. Take your T handle and insert it with the receiver in the vice, tap on the back, barrel breaks free without any fuss at all. I do all my rifles with a bedded extension, either with thread locker or thermo-fit. High Power smiths and top tier shops have been doing this for decades. I've seen the performance results with the same components go from 1.5" groups to 3/4" groups and less. |
