IF you're reading this If you’re reading this My momma is sitting there Looks like I only got a one way ticket over here I sure wish I could give you one more kiss War was just a game we played when we were kids Well I’m laying down my gun I’m hanging up my boots I’m up here with God And we’re both watching over you So lay me down In that open field out on the edge of town And know my soul Is where my momma always prayed that it would go. If you’re reading this I’m already home. If you’re reading this Half way around the world I won’t be there to see the birth of our little girl I hope she looks like you I hope she fights like me And stands up for the innocent and the weak I’m laying down my gun Hanging up my boots Tell dad I don’t regret that i followed in his shoes So lay me down In that open field out on the edge of town And know my soul is where my momma always prayed that it would go If you’re reading this, I’m already home If you’re reading this, there is going to come a day You move on and find someone else and that’s okay Just remember this I’m in a better place Where soldiers live in peace and angels sing amazing grace So lay me down In that open field out on the edge of town And know my soul is where my momma always prayed that it would go If you’re reading this If you’re reading this I’m already home =================================== Trace adkins Arlington I never thought that this is where I'd settle down, I thought I'd die an old man back in my hometown, They gave me this plot of land, me and some other men, for a job well done. There's a big white house sits on a hill just up the road, The man inside he cried the day they brought me home, They folded up a flag, and told my mom and dad, 'We're proud of your son'. And I'm proud to be on this peaceful piece of property, I'm on sacred ground and I'm in the best of company, I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done, I can rest in peace, I'm one of the chosen ones, I made it to Arlington. I remember daddy brought me here when I was eight, We searched all day to find out where my granddad lay, And when we finally found that cross, He said, 'Son this is what it cost, to keep us free'. Now here I am a thousand stones away from him, He recognized me on the first day I came in, And it gave me a chill, when he clicked his heels, and saluted me. And I'm proud to be on this peaceful piece of property, I'm on sacred ground and I'm in the best of company, And I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done, I can rest in peace, I'm one of the chosen ones, I made it to Arlington. And every time I hear, twenty-one guns, I know they brought another hero home, to us. We're thankful for those thankful for the things we've done, We can rest in peace, 'cause we were the chosen ones, We made it to Arlington, yea, dust to dust Don't cry for us, we made it to Arlington. |

MotorHead 1916
video 16 years old when I went the war, To fight for a land fit for heroes, God on my side, and a gun in my hand, Chasing my days down to zero, And I marched and I fought and I bled and I died, And I never did get any older, But I knew at the time that a year in the line, Is a long enough life for a soldier, We all volunteered, and we wrote down our names, And we added two years to our ages, Eager for life and ahead of the game, Ready for history's pages, And we brawled and we fought and we whored 'til we stood, Ten thousand shoulder to shoulder, A thirst for the Hun, we were food for the gun, And that's what you are when you're soldiers, I heard my friend cry, and he sank to his knees, Coughing blood as he screamed for his mother, And I fell by his side, and that's how we died, Clinging like kids to each other, And I lay in the mud and the guts and the blood, And I wept as his body grew colder, And I called for my mother and she never came, Though it wasn't my fault and I wasn't to blame, The day not half over and ten thousand slain, And now there's nobody remembers our names, And that's how it is for a soldier. |

The Band Played Waltzing Matilda
A rather depressing song about the ANZACs at Gallipoli during WWI. The Pogues version. Eric Bogle version. I prefer The Pogues version, but it has no video. Watch the vid with the Bogle version with the sound turned down while you listen to the Pogues version. When I was a young man I carried me pack And I lived the free life of the rover From the Murray's green basin to the dusty outback I waltzed my Matilda all over Then in 1915 my country said: Son, It's time to stop rambling, there's work to be done So they gave me a tin hat and they gave me a gun And they sent me away to the war And the band played Waltzing Matilda When the ship pulled away from the quay And amid all the tears, flag waving and cheers We sailed off for Gallipoli It well I remember that terrible day When our blood stained the sand and the water And how in that hell they call Suvla Bay We were butchered like lambs at the slaughter Johnny Turk, he was ready, he primed himself well He rained us with bullets, and he showered us with shell And in five minutes flat, we were all blown to hell He nearly blew us back home to Australia And the band played Waltzing Matilda When we stopped to bury our slain Well we buried ours and the Turks buried theirs Then it started all over again Oh those that were living just tried to survive In that mad world of blood, death and fire And for ten weary weeks I kept myself alive While around me the corpses piled higher Then a big Turkish shell knocked me arse over head And when I awoke in me hospital bed And saw what it had done, I wished I was dead I never knew there was worse things than dying Oh no more I'll go Waltzing Matilda All around the green bush far and near For to hump tent and pegs, a man needs both legs No more waltzing Matilda for me They collected the wounded, the crippled, the maimed And they shipped us back home to Australia The armless, the legless, the blind and the insane Those proud wounded heroes of Suvla And when the ship pulled into Circular Quay I looked at the place where me legs used to be And thank Christ there was no one there waiting for me To grieve and to mourn and to pity And the Band played Waltzing Matilda When they carried us down the gangway Oh nobody cheered, they just stood there and stared Then they turned all their faces away Now every April I sit on my porch And I watch the parade pass before me I see my old comrades, how proudly they march Renewing their dreams of past glories I see the old men all tired, stiff and worn Those weary old heroes of a forgotten war And the young people ask "What are they marching for?" And I ask myself the same question And the band plays Waltzing Matilda And the old men still answer the call But year after year, their numbers get fewer Someday, no one will march there at all Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda Who'll come a-Waltzing Matilda with me? And their ghosts may be heard as they march by the billabong So who'll come a-Waltzing Matilda with me? |

This and The Green Fields of France are my favorites. Close to them, showing the human side of war: Broadsword I see a dark sail on the horizon set under a black cloud that hides the sun. Bring me my broadsword and clear understanding. Bring me my cross of gold as a talisman. Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing. Take women and children and bed them down. Bring me my broadsword and clear understanding. Bring me my cross of gold as a talisman. Bless with a hard heart those who surround me. Bless the women and children who firm our hands. Put our backs to the north wind. Hold fast by the river. Sweet memories to drive us on for the motherland. Broadsword |

Paschendale - Iron Maiden
In a foreign field he lay lonely soldier unknown grave on his dying words he prays tell the world of Paschendale Relive all that he's been through last communion of his soul rust your bullets with his tears let me tell you 'bout his years Laying low in a blood filled trench killing time 'til my very own death on my face I can feel the falling rain never see my friends again in the smoke in the mud and lead the smell of fear and the feeling of dread soon be time to go over the wall rapid fire and the end of us all Whistles, shouts and more gun-fire lifeless bodies hang on barbed wire battlefield nothing but a bloody tomb be reunited with my dead friends soon many soldiers eighteen years drowned in mud, no more tears surely a war no one can win killing time about to begin Home, far away. From the war, a chance to live again Home, far away. But the war, no chance to live again The bodies of ours and our foes the sea of death it overflows in no-man's land God only knows into jaws of death we go... Crucified as if on a cross allied troops, they mourn their loss German war propaganda machine such before has never been seen swear I heard the angels cry pray to God no more may die so that people know the truth tell the tale of Paschendale Cruelty has a human heart every man does play his part terror of the men we kill the human heart is hungry still I stand my ground for the very last time gun is ready as I stand in line nervous wait for the whistle to blow rush of blood and over we go... Blood is falling like the rain its crimson cloak unveils again the sound of guns can't hide their shame and so we die in Paschendale Dodging shrapnel and barbed wire running straight at canon fire running blind as I hold my breath say a prayer symphony of death as we charge the enemy lines a burst of rounds and we go down I choke I cry but no one hears feel the blood go down my throat Home, far away. From the war, a chance to live again Home, far away. But the war, no chance to live again Home, far away. From the war, a chance to live again Home, far away. But the war, no chance to live again See my spirit on the wind across the lines beyond the hill friend and foe will meet again those who died at Paschendale Aces High - Iron Maiden There goes the siren that warns of the air raid Then comes the sound of the guns sending flak Out for the scramble weve got to get airborne Got to get up for the coming attack. Jump in the cockpit and start up the engines Remove all the wheelblocks theres no time to waste Gathering speed as we head down the runway Gotta get airborne before its too late. Running, scrambling, flying Rolling, turning, diving, going in again Run, live to fly, fly to live, do or die Run, live to fly, fly to live. aces high. Move in to fire at the mainstream of bombers Let off a sharp burst and then turn away Roll over, spin round and come in behind them Move to their blindsides and firing again. Bandits at 8 oclock move in behind us Ten me-109s out of the sun Ascending and turning our spitfires to face them Heading straight for them I press down my guns Rolling, turning, diving Rolling, turning, diving, going in again Run, live to fly, fly to live, do or die Run, live to fly, fly to live, aces high. |

He served in Panama Cadence: I don't know why I left (I don't know why I left) But I know it won't be long (But I know it won't be long) No it won't be long (No it won't be long) Till I get back home They gave me a green uniform and black boots for my feel Eighteen and wild as hell, I thought it would be neat They put me on a plane to some strange and foreign land I said my good-bye to mom and dad and hello to Uncle Sam Once I was a soldier and not afraid to die Now I'm a little older and not afraid to cry Everyday I'm thankful just to be alive When you've been where I've been any kind of life Is paradise Christmas of eighty-nine was a lonely time for me Panama was probably fine but it was nothing like Tennessee I never thought the day would come when I might have to kill a man I did not sleep a wink that night but we won for Uncle Sam Once I was a soldier and not afraid to die Now I'm a little older and not afraid to cry Everyday I'm thankful just to be alive When you've been where I've been any kind of life Is paradise If you've been where I've been any kind of life Is paradise It's paradise Paradise Luke Strickland American by God's Amazing Grace. He served in Iraq with I believe the Arkansas National Guard lyrics to American By God's Amazing Grace : Bottom of my boots sure are gettin' worn there's a lot of holes in this faded uniform My hands are black with dirt and so is my face I aint never been to hell but it couldn't be any worse than this place. Tell my wife don't worry 'cause I know what to do it makes you feel better sometimes, but don't know if it's true. I know if I die it's just my time to go but I pray to God every day that I may get back home. Well when you've seen what I've seen things don't seem so bad quit worrying 'bout what you aint got, thank God for what you have 'Cause I could be raising my family in this place but I was born an American by Gods Amazing Grace. For the last twelve months I've had a new address the neighborhood smells like sewerage and the streets are lined with trash. You never know what's gonna be the next thing to explode but unlike these people, I have another home. It breaks my heart to see these kids out on the streets walking barefoot through the trash, diggin' for something to eat. I give them what I got, just to let them know I care and I thank God it's not my son that's standing there. Well when you've seen what I've seen things don't seem so bad quit worrying 'bout what you aint got, thank God for what you have 'Cause I could be raising my family in this place but I was born an American by Gods Amazing Grace. You want to talk about it, you better keep it short cause I got a lot of lost time I gotta make up for. Really don't care why Bush went in to Iraq I know what I done there and I'm damn sure proud of that. You got somethin' bad to say about the USA you better save it for different ears 'less you want to crawl away. And I laugh in your face when you say you've got it bad until you've spent some time on the streets of Baghdad Well when you've seen what I've seen things don't seem so bad quit worrying 'bout what you aint got, thank God for what you have 'Cause you could be raising your family in this place but you were born in America, By God's Amazing Grace!!!! Didn' I Didn't I make you proud? Go and lay my life down when you called my name? I thought I stood for somethin' Was doin' the right thing when I went away Now being back should be so simple But I keep gettin' these mixed signals from everyone Why do folks sit and judge me Who aint seen what I've seen or did what I done? (Chorus) Didn't I burn? Didn't I bleed enough for you? I faced your fears, Felt pain, So you won't have to Yeah didn't I do my best And wasn't home here when I left? I've seen boys fall to pieces Grown men cry out for Jesus 'til they're black and blue I thought God was on our side... Weren't we supposed to be the good guys that would never lose? 'Cause I don't see no ticker tape or five mile parade sayin' "thank you son" Just folks that sit and judge me Who aint seen what I've seen or did what I done (Repeat Chorus) Didn't I burn? Didn't I bleed enough for you? I faced your fears, Felt pain, So you won't have to Yeah didn't I do my best And wasn't home here when I left? |

Artist: Demon Hunter
Album: The Triptych Song: The Soldier's Song Through the clouds of fallen ash, a lonely mother's cry Among the fields of broken glass the loyal few will rise Faith now regained Finding strenght within the void, of raging fire ignites A spark of ever-burning power and conviction to fight Pride be your name They will spit upon the honor that you guard with your life And run to hide in selfish fear when threat of death is in sight Lay down your shame (Pre-chorus:) Armed with resistance and blind to the cost They say your purpose is mindless and lost But we don't adhere to the slader they spill We mourn with your losses and stand by your will (Chorus:) These tears we spill They haunt us still The cries of the weak lie quiet in sleep Beneath our feet We are the sons of holy wrath, a shining light in the dark The ones who walk amongst despair, no sign of fear in our hearts Stand in death's way Shut out the voice of mindlessness, open your eyes to the truth Believe the words that stand the test and not the slurs of the youth You're not what they say (Pre-chorus) (Chorus) Turn over the tables and watch them run You'll be the weapon they can't outgun (Chorus) www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5OQHjTUYkE&feature=related |

SLAYER - Diabolus In Musica
Point I'm the one that brings you war Infiltrate unguarded shores Master of afflicting pain Point is where all die I'm the one to taste your blood Trashing through the crimson mud Messenger of all demise Point is where I reign Piercing, impaling, no judgement, just punishment Discrete, annihilate assault with no regret I'm the one to taste your death Basking in your dying breath Messenger of all demise Point is where all die Piercing, impaling no judgement, just punishment Discreate, annihilate assault with no regret Born to kill sweep and clear Staring down the face of fear Shrapnel flies dehumanize Flesh and blood will fertilize Empty all the magazines Lethal spray from M-16's Pace the march and sing the song Right the fuck where I belong Stained in blood No fear - no sound Penetrate your holy ground Leave you where your comrades lie Point is where all die Pure destruction has begun Fearlessly the battle's won Spread extinction through the dawn Signature of wrath is spawned Minister of death unleashed My lust for war will never cease With no remorse I watch you die Body count's the bottom line Crashing slashing to the end Your final pulse has just been spent Leave you where your comrades lie Point is where all fucking die Crashing slashing to the end Your final pulse has just been spent Leave you where your comrades lie Stained in blood No fear - no pain - no life Clouded skies rain only death Silence all opposing threats Quench the hunger of my gun Exploding cities overrun I'm the one to taste your death Basking in your dying breath Messenger of all demise Point is where all die |

For post 2000...
Dropkick Muryphys Far Away Coast Here in the trenches the fist of the Beast For fear of an atmosphere poisoned deceased With a gas mask to keep me from breathing my death It's American soil I hope for at best But the duty I serve can't begin to compare To my ancestors battles and wars through the years Though the loneliness strikes like an enemy shell I pray for my home but still sit here in hell. [Chorus:] Sail away to a place that's unknown Taken away from my friends and my home To a place they call sacred A place I call hell I long for that corner I once knew so well. Go to the grind it's all that I have Work on and on with nothing to show But a graying face in this dying place That's a lock in my solitude I think of a place on a faraway coast Where friends are so dear and there's reason to toast A cloudy image of a Middle East land Comes down and wrecks my hopeful thoughts. [Chorus] [Repeat first verse] [Chorus] |

Street Dogs...
Back to the World [Chorus:] I got to go back to the world Back to my girl Back to my family and kids Have to go and see my home again Don't want my life to end Before my time is due And the kids are big Just got the postal package from my wife and kids It brings me comfort while I'm stuck in this desert mess But don't get me wrong, perform my mission Just sounding off on my homesick condition Got to get out, a short timer, my heart it begs for home [Chorus] Seen many a firefight since we deployed out here Learned how to survive with my friends They're focus, adrenaline and fear But the odds haunt me, hope I don't get hit Be that body with a flag adorned to it I'm gonna make it, the short timer, hellbent on going home [Chorus] I'm not a policy maker Just a sworn-in order taker Doing my best to stay alive I'm gonna make it To conus real soon Hope some days still lie ahead for me [Chorus] I've gotta go back Too short to turn back Gotta go back Back to the world again |

Black Angels
Young Men Dead Fire for the hills pick up your feet and lets go. Head for the hills pick up steel on your way. And when you find a piece of them in your site, fire at will, don't you waste no time. Another thought of the unaware, addiction in disguise. With a drop of blood, you will take them out, for me. Fire from the hills pick up speed and lets go. Fire for real, yeah shoot to kill with no aim. Head for the hills, yes eyes on the camp fire glow. Creep up there like a white mink hiding in snow. And outta black a figure forms a soldier in the sky. With a drop of love, trying to set you free. Run for the hills, pick up your feet and lets go. We did our jobs, pick up speed now lets move. The trees cant grow without the sun in their eyes. And we can't live if we're too afraid to die. Hold on tight, yes hold on tight you're too slow. Fire at the breeze that blows these thoughts through our mind. Hire only thieves to steal the thoughts from our heads. |

<------ from my avatar picture / quote
Sonata Arctica -- Replica I'm home again, I won the war, and now I am behind your door. I tried so hard to obey the law, and see the meaning of this all. Remember me? Before the war. I'm the man who lived next door. Long ago... As you can see, when you look at me I'm pieces of what I used to be It's easier when you don't see me standing on my own two feet. I'm taller when I sit here still You ask are all my dreams fulfilled. They made for me a heart of steel the kind them bullets cannot see Yeah... Nothing's what it seems to be, I'm a replica, I'm a replica Empty shell inside of me I'm not myself, I'm a replica of me... The light is green, my slate is clean new life to fill the hole in me I had no name, last December Christmas Eve I can't remember. I was in a constant pain I saw your shadow in the rain. I painted all your pictures red, I wish I had stayed home instead Yeah!! Chorus Are you gonna leave me now, when it is all over Are you gonna leave me, is my world all over Raising from the place I've been, and trying to keep my home base clean. Now I'm here and won't go back believe. I fall asleep and dream a dream I'm floating in the silent stream. No-one placing blame on me But nothing's what it seems to be Yeah... Chorus x4 I'm home again, I won the war, and now I am behind your door. I tried so hard to obey the law, see the meaning of this all. Remember me? Before the war. I'm the man who lived... |

One of my favorite songs of all time- Blind Guardian - And Then There Was Silence About the Trojan War, specifically through the eyes of Cassandra. WARNING: This song's 14 minutes long and it takes a while to analyze and intepret the lyrics so only listen to it if you have time and you like that type of thing.

Chris De Burgh-The Revolution Trilogy
www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdT9oq7VBDA www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKoSBVLV9_w The Revolution lyrics Wake up boys, there's a light at the window, I can hear someone knocking on the door, There are voices in the street, And the sound of running feet, And they whisper the word -- Revolution! There are men coming down from the valleys, There are tall ships lying off the coast, And they carry the light, In the dark of the night, Like a whisper in the wind -- Revolution! Bring my gun and a handful of silver, By the sea we will gather for the fight, It's been so many years, So many tears, We have lost once before, Now we'll settle the score, When our cannons will roar -- Revolution! ... light a fire light a firee just light a fire Lyrics to Light A Fire : Watch, and wait, get ready for the sign, There are many here among us now, Who have not seen the light, We must send the word to all the people in the land, Go to every hill and mountain, For the time is now at hand, To light a fire! Light a fire, Light a fire! Let us march the road up the rocky hill tonight, Under cover of the darkness, We will slip behind the lines, And we will take the men who have stolen our land, For the years of domination, Hit them right between the eyes, And light a fire! Light a fire, Light a fire, They will see through the world! Lyrics to Liberty: Roll away the dawn, Roll away the dawn, and let me see, The land of the free, Has anything changed at all; Sweet liberty, Sweet liberty is in our hands, It's part of the plan, Or is it a state of mind? Horses and men, Horses and men are on the field, They didn't yield, Many have fallen here; Never forget, Never forget what they have done, The time will come, When it will change again, Never forget! |

"Tommy Gun" Tommy gun You ain't happy less you got one Tommy gun Ain't gonna shoot the place up Just for fun Maybe he wants to die for the money Maybe he wants to kill for his country Whatever he wants, he's gonna get it! Tommy gun You better strip it down for a custom run Tommy gun Waiting in the airport 'till kingdom come An' we can watch you make it On the nine o'clock news Standing there in palestine lighting the fuse Whatever you want, you're gonna get it Tommy gun You'll be dead when your war is won Tommy gun But did you have to gun down everyone? I can see it's kill or be killed A nation of destiny has got to be fulfilled Whatever you want, you're gonna get it! Tommy gun You can be a hero in an age of none Tommy gun I'm cutting out your picture from page one I'm gonna get a jacket just like yours An' give my false support to your cause Whatever you want, you're gonna get it! Boats an' tanks and planes, it's your game Kings an' queens an' generals learn your name I see all the innocents, the human sacrifice And if death comes so cheap Then the same goes for life! |

From the 70's
Roads to Moscow Roads to Moscow Al Stewart They crossed over the border the hour before dawn Moving in lines through the day Most of our planes were destroyed on the ground where they lay Waiting for orders we held in the wood - word from the front never came By evening the sound of the gunfire was miles away Ah, softly we move through the shadows, slip away through the trees Crossing their lines in the mists in the fields on our hands and our knees And all that I ever was able to see The fire in the air glowing red silhouetting the smoke on the breeze All summer they drove us back through the Ukraine Smolyensk and Viyasma soon fell By autumn we stood with our backs to the town of Orel Closer and closer to Moscow they come - riding the wind like a bell General Guderian stands at the crest of the hill Winter brought with her the rains, oceans of mud filled the roads Gluing the tracks of their tanks to the ground while the sky filled with snow And all that I ever was able to see The fire in the air glowing red silhouetting the snow on the breeze In the footsteps of Napoleon the shadow figures stagger through the winter Falling back before the gates of Moscow, Standing in the wings like an avenger And far away behind their lines the partisans are stirring in the forest Coming unexpectedly upon their outposts, growing like a promise You'll never know, you'll never know Which way to turn, which way to look, you'll never see us As we're stealing through the blackness of the night You'll never know, you'll never hear us And the evening sings in a voice of amber, the dawn is surely coming The morning road leads to Stalingrad, and the sky is softly humming Two broken Tigers on fire in the night flicker their souls to the wind We wait in the lines for the final approach to begin It's been almost four years that I've carried a gun At home it'll almost be spring The flames of the Tigers are lighting the road to Berlin Ah, quickly we move through the ruins that bow to the ground The old men and children they send out to face us, they can't slow us down And all that I ever was able to see The eyes of the city are opening now it's the end of the dream I'm coming home, I'm coming home Now you can taste it in the wind, the war is over And I listen to the clicking of the train wheels as we roll across the border And now they ask me of the time That I was caught behind their lines and taken prisoner "They only held me for a day, a lucky break", I say; They turn and listen closer I'll never know, I'll never know Why I was taken from the line and all the others To board a special train and journey deep into the heart of holy Russia And it's cold and damp in the transit camp, and the air is still and sullen And the pale sun of October whispers the snow will soon be coming And I wonder when I'll be home again and the morning answers "Never" And the evening sighs and the steely Russian skies go on forever |

[Joey DeMaio] From a battle I've come To a battle I ride Blazing up to the sky Chains of fate Hold a fiery stride I'll see you again when I die High and mighty alone we are kings Whirlwinds of fire we ride Providence brought us the crown and the ring Covered with blood and our pride Heroes await me My enemies ride fast Knowing not this ride's their last Saddle my horse as I drink my last ale Bow string and steel will prevail High and mighty alone we are kings Whirlwinds of fire we ride Providence brought us the crown and the ring Covered with blood and our pride Odin I await thee Your true son am I I hail you now as I die I pledge you my sword and to no man I kneel Ours is the Kingdom Of Steel High and mighty alone we are kings Whirlwinds of fire we ride Providence brought us the crown and the ring Covered with blood and our pride www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7ZEVcVws3c ManOwar |

That song is about a school shooting. From the wikipedia article : "Song meaning According to singer/guitarist Dexter Holland, the song is about school shootings.[4] This is supported by the closing lyrics "and you can all hide behind your desks now/and you can cry teacher come help me". Lead guitarist Kevin 'Noodles' Wasserman elaborated on this, stating that the initial lyrics are from the perspective of a soldier who believes that everything he does is for the greater good - "take a life that others may live". He is affected by a huge force (Hammerhead - "it hammers in my head") in his mind that makes him deluded.[5] The true nature of the song - that the narrator is actually a school shooter - is only revealed towards the end." |

I dont know why I didnt think of this one before, but it is a GREAT song about war.
Into Battle by Ensiferum ------------------------------------ We left our homes behind, now we're following the wolves' trail Through the deepest forests, beneath the stars we ride I can see the moon glowing red like the blood of warriors There's a prophecy, that tonight many men will die The fire will burn forever in our passionate hearts Our destinies are calling us now We are ready to take their lives Into battle we ride with Gods by our side We are strong and not afraid to die We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled WE'LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell! Prominent leaders, cast your swords in the wind as a sign of war Men, prepare for death, 'cause we might never return Blood will spill and heads will fall As the swords sparkle, lights the night The ground rumbles as we attack In the throes of rage, we will fight The lightning's flash, the thunder's roar Will petrify the weak We'll show no mercy, we'll kill them all! We are sworn in the name of steel |
