there is a patch for that. |

I bypassed that particular sub-routine many, many guns ago... |
Reload. Get it? "Reload"...? I'll get my coat. |

I held one at the local shop last week. I damn near bought it. Kinda wish I did. Oh well. They said they ould have them if I changed my mind.
I had to have my local gun store order one for me. They'd never heard of it and I don't think the guy believed me when I told him they made them. When he looked them up, he said they weren't available yet.
But he said he try to get one. It'll be $465. |
Not bad really for having a lifetime warranty. |
they are available and easy to get. mine came in 24hrs after they ordered it. he has 4 in stock right now. |
Yes, but the point I was trying to make was that I don't think it matters what the pistol actually weighs. I think the term "Manufactured Weight" means that the weight it came out of the factory is the weight that matters from the legal perspective. So no matter how much you shaved off, it would always weigh 51 ounces in the eyes of the law, and hence be an assault weapon. Of course, IANAL so I'm just speculating on what that term means. Mike |
gotcha, wouldn't know, doesn't apply here for the record i called keltec today and NONE of the accesories will be available until mid febuary. |
It was 465 at my local gun show this weekend and its 475 on gunbroker (reserve price). This will fit perfectly in the little cubby hole in my Scion Xb in the back. Its a tiny trunk. This thing looks awesom. Keltec continues to be innovative at the low-end. I'm really impressed with them. |
i assume it came with the gallon jar of anal ease? |
The dealer price for these is right about $400, so paying much more than $480 (Standard 20% markup) would be excessive.
Fuck, I want one now. |
Anal Ease? Sounds like an actual product name....which....since you actually know of a specific product used, I assume, in the "easing" of inserting things anally, I find it.....alarming. Just for curiosity, I'll Google this to confirm my suspicion..... Ok...I'm back, and the horror is well founded. It's an actual product. Ok....now back to the PLR-16. |

the only reason i know is some innocent arfcommer posted a pic of his guns on his bed. A big jar of it was on his headboard <shutter> |

What kind of velocities would someone get from that short of a barrel? I've got a P32 and the 9mm carbine, love them both!
No way! Are you serious!! How fuckin' HILARIOUS is that?!? |
Just for anybody who is interested, a local dealer in my area has it listed on their website for $442.
GunDepot PLR-16 Now, I know they don't have it in their shop, especially since it's not legal in this state. I guess that means they can order it for that price and ship it to your local FFL. Mike |
from kel-tecs website.... Muzzle velocity (M193) 2600 fps maybe i'll get my chrono going this weekend and try to confirm it. |
Ammo Oracle says you need 2700 fps for reliable fragmantation. I wonder how it would do with a lighter varmint load or maybe hollow points or a ballistic tip or something? If only there were some sort of Box O' Truth where you could get answers to such questions.
which is exactly why i was thinking hornady TAP would be one hell of a good round for this. i'd still thing even with a 55gr load that at 50yrds it would be a bit more than getting hit by a 22lr. just yaw on entry would likey do some pretty serious tissue damage with good depth even at 2600fps. |
I'd love to see some crono of on this at 50 & 100 yards myself. If you get time...
not sure i have the skills or the balls to shoot my chrono at 50 or 100 with this thing |
At least you have a steady revenue stream, turning coal into diamonds. |
Yeah, I thought about that right after my post |
Diane Fineswine just shit her pants looking at that picture of the KELTEC.
which is reason in and of itself for a purchase |
HOLD OFF on purchasing.
mine suffered a catastrophic failure with winchester whitebox ammo today. upper reciever completely disentigrated and bolt was found about 20' behind me. Had i been a few inches higher on the bore it would be in my forhead right now. pics and info sent to kel-tec. waiting to hear back from them. will post pics after hearing from kel-tec. My initial thought is it fired out of battery but i will await their information. |
No injuries at all?
Glad to hear you are safe.
but
but but but but its not made by............. ah never mind that sucks |
I guess that means Glock sold their carbine design to Keltech |
he that was my first thought, was glock making their frames such is life when you gamble on a new design. i had heard of no structural problem in the carbine and was hoping this would be a fair gun for the price. Not ruling out ammo failure, but time will tell. mike |
my bet would be on ammo, my buddies ar(a hartford horsey no less!) got blown to hell by some win white box last year |
DAMN.
I'm glad you weren't injured. POST PICS......why wait???? |
thats why i am holding judgement until talk to kel-tec. |
Do you have any pics showing us nosy SOBs exactly what came apart, and how bad?
Glad the bolt flew past, not into to you. My buddy recently had a Beretta 92F explosion with 9mm WWB. Blew the primer and bottom corner of brass case apart and damaged the slide.
At least if it had hit you in the head, there would have been no damage. (Glad you are okay, Mike.) |
