The captain announced the restriction (1)when they took off, (2) 45 minutes before they landed, and (3) when the rule went into effect 30 minutes prior to landing.

Maybe bizarro was too busy to listen.

Or maybe he was distracted, or maybe he was watching himself in the commercial, or maybe he had a Walkman on, or maybe he is hard of hearing like a lot of people on this board.
Whatever, he caused a scene at 30,000 feet, and his attorney-induced response: 'the air marshalls looked like they were about to take over the plane, so I thought about stopping them' is, well, bizzare!

I believe in the RKBA, but not on a commercial airliner at 30,000 feet!

So, in other words, if three guys suddenly take control of the plane, demand that passengers put their hands on their heads, and aim the aircraft toward what's left of the World Trade Center, you'll sit and do nothing??

Isn't that what got us INTO this mess in the first place?  What happened to the Spirit of Flight 93??

No, not really.

How about this:

Mohammed Atta, Jr., is on a plane somewhere in the US. His co-terrorists are scattered throughout the plane.

At a prearranged signal (such as the Captain's announcement that the 30 minute rule is in effect), another member of the terror squad gets up and attempts to go to the bathroom.

The flight attendants approach the passenger and attempt to get him to return to his seat!

He loudly objects, and begins to create a scene.

Ok so far.
The scuzzily-dressed air marshalls then get up to come to take control of the situation.

While all this distraction is happening, Mohammaed Atta, Jr., and his conspirators are....what?
View Quote

You've got it wrong -- Atta's other conspirators ARE the "air marshalls".  They're FAKE air marshalls, just PRETENDING to be air marshalls so that they can lull the sheeple into sitting quietly in their seats with their hands on their heads, while the FAKE AIR MARSHALLS seize control of the plane and crash it into the Olympic Stadium.
Lord, I would have at least thought the folks on this Board had learned something from Sept 11!

That is absurd, dear Sir!

You expect anyone to believe that the flight crew and the flight attendants would not know the true identities of the Air Marshalls aboard the plane?

Of course they would know!

So if you see the flight crew cooperating with a scuzzy-looking dude, rest assured that that guy is either an Air Marshall or one of the stewardesses' scuzzy-looking boyfriends.

You know, sometimes I forget that %99 of the world is retarded. Then people like Mr. Bizzaro and you remind me that being told five times is often not enough.

I rest assured that the economics of the situation will rule out ever being on a flight with you and it looks like Mr. Bizzaro will wind up paying a fair amount of money for being a self-important ass.

why does it have to be a SMG for on plane CCW (to many 007 movies) a .380 or a 9mm would be fine while not my first choice for CCW a nice Browning BDA or beretta would work....hell id be happy witha .22LR as long as it was a reliable one......just something to put a thorn in the sides of the terrorists at the ranges youd be firing at and the area in which they could dodge(not very big) a .22lr to the head would get the job done.......

as for decompresion its a myth you have to blow out a pretty big hole (softball to football size) at least to depresurize the cabin.....

This kind of Socialist crap is what makes me take the train when I can.

Unfortunately, I have few options in Pensacola:

1) I cannot drive, because I doubt my vehicle would make it right now. Anyways, anytime I drive more than 500 miles I seem to blow a tire.

2) The train only comes through 3 times a week and those are during the week. So, I can't use the train to travel home for a holiday weekend. I do use it for Christmas, etc...but can't use it for weekend travel becuase the Sunset Limited doesn't pass though here on weekends.

3) Greyhound. Yeah, and spend another hour in that Shithole Slum known as Tallahassee. Every last bus fuels up there and none bypass it. So, we always have an hour or longer layover. And, Greyhound seems to have attracted every gangsta and hippie at FSU. Last time I was in there, There were 3 lines. 1 was going to South Florida, 1 to New York, and 1 to San Fransisco. In the New York line were 2 Mexicans and a South American. The Mexicans had 2 huge mule type bags and had just got off a bus from the Southwest US. Can anyone say drug runners ? In the line there were also several black teens wearing stocking caps and gang paraphanalia. In the San Fransisco line, there were a bunch of hippie College Professors and Students. God, I wanted to scream that the 60's ended 40 years ago at these morons. OH, and they limit the baggage size = I can only bring guns I can break down and fit in my baggage.

4) Airplane. Can fly out any day at almost anytime I choose as long as I fly through Atlanta. Flights to Atlanta are $39 right now if I remember correctly. The people in Pensacola Airport are cool. Rather than doing all this stupid crap, they search everybody's carry-ons at least once (This was just after 9-11, so it may have changed now). But, I got no trouble checking a Firearm. Jacksonville was the only place that gave me shit. Damn woman asked me why I needed a gun. Still had to get rid of 20 Rounds of ammo. becuase SW has a 120 Round limit. So, I gave it to a guardsman since it was .223. The woman at Ft. Lauderdale was nice, but ignorant about guns. She couldn't even figure out how to check the chamber of a shotgun (A Pump Shotgun).

Oh, and I forgot to mention that Amtrak is threatening to eliminate the Sunset Limited Route if they don't get $1 Billion in government aid. So, unless they have some good friends in Congress #2 won't be an option much longer. Nice things about the train:

1) I can pack my guns in my carry-on bag w/o risking becoming Bubba's bitch.

2) I can use the bathroom whenever I damned well please. This is exactly how planes should be.

3) I could get alcohol anytime before 1 AM and drink it w/o risking becoming Bubba's bitch becuase some dumbass uppity stewardess interprets using the restroom as interfering w/ the flight crew.

4) I can carry-on anything I can carry in one trip. Basically, if I can get it in the train and to my seat w/o assistance it is cool.

5) Amtrak doesn't give a 30 minute lecture before leaving the station like the idiots at Delta do. Yak...This is the Emergency Exit...Yak. Like I give a damn, I've flown enough to know where the exits are, that my seat can be used as a life vest, there is an airsickness bag in the seat in front of me, etc...

6) Amtrak shows movies on the Sunset Limited rather than simply showing designer houses like SW does or companies du jour like Delta does.

7) I can get semi-real food. Yes, they charge me $1.50 for a Pepsi and $7.00 for a slice of turkey...but it is better than a bag of snack (Peanuts, and some other crap) and not even a whole Pepsi. Delta uses half the can for one person and half for another. Talk about chincey. Oh, and WTF is with Delta cutting the Peanuts w/ other stuff.

Downsides:

1) 1 hour flight is 16 hour train ride.
2) Limited Scheule. Only heads east Wed., Sat., and Mon. Heads west on Mon., Wed., and Fri. Now if I was heading west I could do weekend trips.
3) For some reason the Sunset Limited comes in a couple of hours after the last train leaves Jacksonville and Orlando. So, that means an overnight stay in JAX or ORL.
4) Limited by tracks layed. To get Atlanta, I have to travel west to New Orleans, then NE to Atlanta which takes a couple days while it is only 300 miles directly.

I don't see why anybody even flys anymore unless they absolutely need to. I have cancelled all the business trips this year for my whole department that we can not drive to. I will not be flying anytime soon, until the airlines get their heads out of their asses and stop all the useless bullshit that would not even stop a real terrorist anyway. It seems that is all that is being done, just a bunch of feel-good useless crap that will not stop a real team of terrorists. Where does it end? I could kill someone with a pen or pencil, so they need to be kept off planes, I could strangle someone with a shoelace so those have to go. I could kill you with a sharpened arm of my sunglasses, you get the idea. They should just do something sensible like arm the pilots, most have military backgrounds anyway. This war on terror is turning into the war on drugs, useless, a waste of money and ultimately just strips us of even more rights and priveleges. Take the war on terror to the places where they live and train and away from me.

Dude you need help. I don't give a damn about how many times he was told over the intercom which as an avid flier he rarely listened to anyway. The whole thing is just screwed up.

Ok the guy gets up to go to the bathroom. when he comes out one of the stewardesses instead of reminding him of the rule and NICELY asking him to return to his seat, instead has to play all bold and stern and DEMAND that he return to his seat while some young looking thug types claiming to be cops take over the plane and also demands that he return to his seat.

what do you see here. The "cops" were young and dressed like thugs and were addressing him in a rather upsetting manner while the young stewardess takes enjoyment out of finally being able to take her frustrations out on a PAYING customer.

And then they suggest 20 years in prison for that. OH MY GAWD.

look if you came out of the bathroom in YOUR plane and the stewardess was acting like a bitch while a couple young lookin gangsta punks tried to tell you what to do youd question them all too and probably be very upset.

Ok the guy screwed up. But it was only in the first part. He should have paid better attention or maybe they should have found a better way to remind the passengers of the rule.

but when he came out of the bathroom he did what and damn american or ANYONE on this forum would probably do.

20 years is a LONG time. especially for a guy who commited a crime without any knowledge that he was commiting one.

life is very valueable guys. its just sickening that theyd even think about giving this guy 20 YEARS of his life down the drain for THIS.
