My Mas Defense 300 BLK 8 inch, melonited barrel for my pistol build is in transit as we speak.  I could care less what Yeager thinks is good or bad.  As to the price per round... I thought it was well established that 300 BLK was a reloader's caliber.  I'm planning on running supersonics until the day (sometime well in the future) when I invest in a suppressor.  I just wanted a compact package that had UMPH.  This seemed like the least complicated route (I'm already set up to reload...).

What would happen if you put a 7.62x51 bullet in a 7.62x39 case and shot it out of a 7.62x39 AR?

The biggest difference is the platform.  The .300BLK is right at home in non-trashcan dwelling weapons.

300 BLK is made from prolapsed .223 cases and is mucho quieto.  You can use the same mags as .223 which will provide much entertainment at the range when a round goes into the wrong hole and explodes... something Buck Angel can empathize with.

Shitty accuracy because the bore diameter of the commie round is different...

The 300 blackout ONLY requires the change of the barrel.

Same mags, BCG, and gas block.

Much better bullet variety in .308 than .311.

The round was made for subsonic use through a Suppressor, but can match 7.62 super sonic performance with just a magazine change.

If you have no intentions of suppressing it, then 7.62x39 will do just fine for you.

It has it's purposes and not everyone values that purpose.

ETA: I have a 300 blackout and despise Yeager.

Still, excessive freebore would yield less than ideal accuracy.

Well, i think when everybody thinks of those types of comparisons, they are mainly thinking of suppressed subsonic .300 Blackout.

Hardly anybody ever thinks about or mentions subsonic 7.62X39.  I think everybody just assumes that subsonic 7.62X39 won't cycle an AK.

So to really make .300 Blackout shine you have to own a suppressor.  What is a .308 muzzle can costing nowadays?  Then there is the $200 tax stamp.  Then you have to reload, so that's probably a good $300.

I think somebody else mentioned $2,000 .  That sounds about right.

Nah, it won't go boom.  It would be a .308 projectile going down a .311 bore.

I bought Speer TNT's in .308, 125 grainers, to load into my 7.62X39 AR15.  Maybe in a month or two I can give a range report.

Ruger did it for years. Everything I've read about Colt 6830 barrels says they slug under .311 as well, though I've never done it myself.
