To date, I've raised $795, thanks to many of the folks on this board.
Only $1825 to go. |

Back to the top for the Independence Day Weekend. I'm still training for the Marathon, and those Injured Marines still need your help.
Thanks. |
|
$805 as of yesterday. I recently got business cards printed with the website on them. I'll be passing them around at work and all over the base.

Keeping it fresh.
I ran 18 miles last week in training. 4 Monday, 6 Wednesday, 8 Friday. This week, the goal is 19. |
|
I'm still at it. I ran 10 miles this morning. 200.4 miles since 25 June.
Still looking to raise $2620, got about $1800 to go. Thanks to those who have already contributed. |

The marathon nears, and I still have a ways to go. My trianing is coming along well. I'm still injury free, and looking forward to completing the race.
|
|
Thanks. Tonight will be my biggest run in training. My goal is 22.5 for tonight.
|
|
Didn't make the 22.5. I stopped at 18.5. My knees started to hurt, and there's no point in risking an injury this late in the training.
I'll be fine for the race. Last year, I was slower than I am this year, and I did an 18 miler as my long run. Yesterday I ran 6 miles in 46 minutes, 41 seconds- alot faster than last year. I picked up my race packet today. My race number is 3054. If anyone'sinterested in how I finish the race, click on this link:
community.marathonfoto.com/1369/ Last Name: Wetherell Race number: 3054 The results for 2008 won't be up until Sunday afternoon, EST. It looks like I'm not going to make my goal of raising $2620 for the Injured Marines Semper Fi Fund. To date, I've raised $1347. The goal for all runners raising money ws $150,000. Combined, we've raised over $230,000. To help out, follow this link: www.active.com/donate/teamsemperfi08/AWether1 |

Mission completed.
My finish time was a little past my goal of four hours. I completed the race in 4:07:17. I was doing well, and right on pace until mile 18. I stopped to take some salt tablets to prevent cramps. When I took a step on my left leg, I got a terrible pain in my left knee. I think something is messed up with my ITB. Anyway, I limped through the next 8.2 miles, and finished the marathon. I didn't make my fundraising goal of $2620, but the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund blew it's goal out of the water. The goal was $150,000. As of now, they (we) have raised $247,701. Thanks to the staff here for allowing me to post this, and thanks to the members who have contributed. Semper Fi, Gunny |

Close to $250,000 is Outstanding news! Way to drive on with your air force knee gunny!

Quoted:
Air Force knee? You lost me there... It means the rest of you is rated for the Marines but your knee is only rated for... Ah, guess that joke wasn't Corps-wide, nevermind |
