We'd be what I call the $30K Millionaires.

Where everyone drives a nice car (leased), lives in a house they really can't afford, has a Rolex (on credit), credit cards close to maxed out, and can't go out the first or last weekends of the month because that's when all the bills are due. But they're rich!

GD being Detroit is a fair assessment. Violence and disruption happen on a record level but most of the time people enjoy each other. I have the best time when I pedal my bicycle through Detroit. Everyone is happy and friendly. I'm certain the crime statistic involve only those who are involved in drugs or other crime. We're almost never bothered. Never.

It's like the way I remember The Block in Baltimore back in the early eighties: a bunch of derelicts, pervs and freaks with a fair number of normal people just passing through sightseeing.
